Getting New Vegas in a few hours, need these questions answe

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 4:17 am

Hey guys, grabbing New Vegas in a few hours. I loved Fallout 3 so much and poured hundreds of hours into it, strangely I haven't been keeping up with New Vegas at all really because of other games.

I know there is DLC that came with pre-ordering from certain stores, there are only 3 of those packs right? Tribal, Caravan and the Vault dweller one with the canteen?

Will those be released as DLC later? Are there other water canteens in game that I can obtain? I wanted to play on hardcoe mode and it is going to totally drag my experience down a notch if I can't rehydrate myself on the go just because I didn't pre-order!

Is there any preorder DLC/Collectors edition DLC that I am not aware about? I ask this because I just hate feeling like I don't have the 100% complete game just because of these pre-order bonuses..

I have also heard problems of lots of glitches and bugs.. just how bad is it?

Is the character creation feature as difficult as it was in 3? I remember having to spend hours to make the right face/skin complexion, then I would walk outside in the sun and find out my guy was yellow and have to completely redo him.. ugh

I've heard it's a lot more challenging this time around and the difficulty is balanced and not as cheap as 3 was at times, is this true?

Thanks heaps guys! Hope you answer my questions quick..

1) There are 4 pre-order packs.
2) They will probably be released as DLC in the future.
3) They aren't really worth bothering with. Almost everything they give you is found somewhere else in the game. They just make sure you get the stuff early.
4) Character creation is actually much better this time around because you can see your freaking character and they haven't thrown some weird colored bright light on one side that makes features look distorted like in Oblivion and FO3.
5) Most people are having minor bugs and glitches. Some people are having MAJOR problems. Luckily there are many hotfixes discovered by forum members that solve some of the worst problems with the PC for most. Check the PC Issues forum for New Vegas and decide for yourself whether you wish to take the plunge now or wait for official patches. I had some serious issues on my PC with the game, but have fixed them all now and it is playing just as well as FO3 did (after all the patches).
6) The difficulty is much better in NV. That said, NV is harder than FO3. There is no level scaling except a little bit on critical path missions for the main storyline. You can run into Super Mutant Masters or Deathclaws on level 1. But I find the game is much more rewarding and tactical, and there is a great sense of accomplishment (and corresponding XP received) when you take down a Deathclaw at a very low level.

This isn't a chatroom. It's a forum, and it is in the middle of the night where a lot of American players are, and people are playing the game. 7 minutes is not long to wait. Cultivate a little patience.

Thanks heaps dude that answered all my questions and I'm very relieved to find that the DLC packs aren't that important.

So excited!!! I can't wait to be a lonely survivor in the wasteland once more.. stealing what I can to make my way in the world.. being chased by deathclaws in the middle of the night.. living in some old abandoned house

FALLOUT HERE I COME BABY

EDIT: To the smartarse remark, 7 minutes is too long when that means my topic had already dropped off the first page (the only one that anyone reads)

Thanks again
