Getting strange prefixes before spells.

Post » Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:21 pm

Many of the spells in my game are getting strange prefix codes listed before their name. Been trying to figure out how to correct this but have had no success. I am using LAME and Supreme Magicka with the bgSupremeMagicka patch. I tried removing all Bash Tags from LAME and that helped correct some of the spells but not all of them. Any suggestions?

Are you using the option to rename spells/potions and such in your bashed patch?

In the Bashed Patch under Tweak Names there is an option called "Spells [Fire Ball] - Label spells to sort by school and level." Is this what you're talking about? If so I am not using it currently. I'll go ahead and do a test to see if it fixes the problem.

From the LAME readme:

- every spell now has a code at the beginning (magic school + effect + mastery level), your spell book won't be a mess anymore. E.g. ILi3: Candlelight

edit.
From the original Supreme Magicka readme:

Have you ever had trouble looking for the right spell just because you couldn't remember what it was called? The spell sorter feature sorts your spells so that they are displayed by school and mastery level and are not just thrown everywhere haphazardly. All spells have a letter and number in parenthesis in front of their names such as "(D3) Fireball". The "D" stands for Destruction and "3" means that it's a journeyman spell.

Not sure if Strategy Master's updated version still does this, probably does.

Thanks all. Tweaking spell names in the bashed patch takes away the codes. Thanks to Wetblanket I understand why they were there in the first place, so I might turn them back on later if I find I need help organizing my spell book.
