Getting teared up

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:50 pm

I suppose emotional pull is a good aspect for a VG, but I was listening to GNR and heard 3dog discuss my exploits in Grayditch - when he finishes with "Good Job 101" I began tearing up a bit. Anyone have an emotional experience in FO?

I haven't started crying, but I have most certainly felt emotional.

The most upsetting moment for me was having to side with the BoS. Below that are a whole host of disturbing things I've seen out in the wastes.

well crying and tearing up a bit are two different things. When old pops died was pretty rough as well.

Yeah, there's some pretty emotional stories in the wastes... both positive and negative. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1073736-things-that-break-your-heart-in-fo3/page__hl__broke%20your%20heart from a couple of weeks ago that's back a few pages.

I've heard rumors that the writing in F1 and F2 are really good, too. I'm thinking I might try 'em, if I can get past the gameplay... is it true?

Yes the writing F1 and F2 is very good, but for the story line itself, well.....

But the only thing that gets me going is Liberty Prime, why did he have to die, POR QUE!!!!!!!!!

PS- exsqueeze me but where does a Mister Handy read to a dead little kid

I also have a soft spot for Liberty Prime.
I was really upset that you don't ever get to really fix him up at the end .

Telling Herbert Dashwood that Argyle is dead was pretty sad for me. And Sapling Yew crying over losing her best friend in the whole world.

Marcella's last words in Point Lookout. I went and hunted down every smuggler with the Dismemberer after that.

<.< Am I a bad person for smiling when I hear 3Dog telling people I sold Brian Wilks to the slavers? >:3

On my first play through the Oasis quest had me pretty conflicted. After that I was sufficiently jaded to handle just about anything the waste could throw at me…at least until dad died.

On my first play thru I played a female succubus that wanted to bring as much pain and suffering to the wasteland as possible.
So, NO!!

My new playthru is much more gentle and caring. Me and Charon rule the wasteland with a special bond that I have never seen before. :hugs:

This. I had to turn off the game. I couldn't see through the tears.

It has always annoyed me how that never sparked any emotions in me. For me it was just another sad story the CW is full of.

Otherwise, getting thrown out of V101 was pretty troubling for me, especially since I had just played Fallout 1 few days earlier (I play it through monthly).

Plenty of stuff in the game made me sad, but the only time I ever teared up was when I heard that robot reading that poem to those long-dead kids.

I was genuinely surprised to see Liberty Prime get owned. I didn't cry, but it's not often a game makes me verbally yell "WHAT. NO!"

Liberty Prime getting destroyed. And probably watching a friendly Yao Guai get killed by a group of Talon Company Mercs I was running away from.

Holotapes seem to tug at me the most. Especially the Keller tapes.

Messed up.

Yeah holotapes can be depressing for sure.

Nothing in this game made me cry but one instance that came close was at the very end of the game when the narrator tells of what you did, there is a little soft jingle played to a picture of the lone wanderer and your dad. I think its the picture jonas took when you had the bb gun when you were a kid.

I think the Keller family had issues. Did that 5th one give it away?
