- It's a bad armor
- Never seen anywhere other than on NCR heavy troopers
- You can always cheat it in and see hwo bad it is

I agree. It may LOOK neat, but it's very clunky.

It's like Combat Armor with AGI penalty. ;-) If that's all NCR gained from warring against BoS, they haven't actually won that war.

And the weight of Power Armor.

It's power armor, minus the power.

If you are on PC you can use my TUPAM-NV Mod which adds multiple ways to obtain this armor in addition to overhauling all power armors...

I spent more time in Reinforced Leather in this game than in anything else.... Looks cool, weights nothing, allows for Travel Light to work, it's cheap to repair and with 2x Toughness and the implant I don't really need more DT unless with my melee/unarmed guy.

Why people obsess about PA or CA is kind of weird to me. For me PA and CA are companion armors.

Cause PA and CA are the best armors. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd rather have the best than 'Good Enough'.

Depends where you're coming from. CA and PA might be the best for you and your playing style, but for many people they are useless.

:P i prefer something with abit more soul to it, like the space-suit or roving trader outfit.

There's never room for Power Armor because it always encumbers me...I'm such a pack rat. I've found myself using the Armored Vault 13 jumpsuit from the pre-order Classic Pack all the time now. That and the canteen were so worth it for gameplay because next game will be hardcoe and having the canteen is going to help. I have the Reinforced Combat Armor Mark II that'll be important later in battle. I'll take another look at that Reinforced Leather Armor.

I meant from a protection point of view, not necessarily on a certain play style. I always get it whether I'm a sniper or going unarmed and everything in between.

Granted, it is a personal preference.

My first stop for armor is always Vault 34. I love that Vault security armor. It's light, has great DT and is easily repaired.

For me it depends on the character. Some love the idea of getting combat armor or power armor. (And IMO both look neat). Some don't want to be in a tin can so at MOST go with combat armor, or stick with something light. When I finish this playthrough (my second), I may go for metal armor even though IMO it's not great for heavy just to do it, it also IMO has a neat look.

As an aside, I often do like power armor though since it also does have the radiation resistance. Sure, I could lug around a light suit of armor, and then also lug around a radiation suit or the space suit and swap out when I need rad protection, but if I just wear power armor all the time I can kind of not worry about needing to swap armor. It lets me "be lazy" in that regard.

When it becomes time for a new companion, I always travel to wherever the old companion will go when released, to release them.
(They can die, before or after travelling with you.)
And I always let them keep their armor/helm and even gun, if it's not too uncommon.
So sometimes I pass Veronica in her medium Recon armor and reinforced CA Mk2 helm, standing there in her spot.
Also Cass sitting at the bar, in her reinforced CA Mk2 and Boomer headgear I gave her.

But Boone!
He stalks around Novac wearing Metal armor (repaired to 100%) and he looks like quite the hooligan.
'Is it time yet?'
No Boone not yet...
Arcade Gannon and I are gonna go get the Remnants together first.

Eventually I will come back for Boone, he was my first companion (dressed in Metal because that's all I had for him when I was Level 8) and he will always be my last companion too.
But I then come back with Remnant (Enclave) power armor for me, and - surprise! Here try this on Boone, some nice Gannon family Tesla Armor.
We look so kewl in the PA, wearing our berets. Especially Boone in Tesla!
(ED-E carries both our PA helms.)

But - NCR Power Armor?
That's not even as good as BoS PA, and I sold all that stuff off for caps... (lotsa caps though).
I'm good with Medium armor myself (never took that Running perk) but that's really all you need - DT is 20 I believe.
I stuck with my Lightweight Leather (Steam) armor for the longest time, and upgraded to Reinforced Leather eventually.
But I wouldn't wear that metal armor myself, personally... too heavy, and Agil -1.

Don't do it. It's so addictive. I can't stop taking it. 95% of FNV is running around, 10% bonus means 1 hour saved per every 10 hours spent running. Not to mention all the covers I made my way towards without getting an extra bullet, all the Deathclaws I ran from, all the damage I didn't receive because I can get out of melee reach. Lots and lots of practical every day uses here.

Looks cool; works horrible.

To get it, I would recommend reverse pick-pocketing an explosive on the NCR Heavy at I88. Worked for me.
