So I'm at level 30 XP and only recently stumbled upon Veronica, she seems cutesy and nice so I took her in as a companion.
She kept going on about getting a dress, so I got her one from the Ultra Lux, she seemed to like it but she won't wear it.

In fact I cannot get her to wear anything that doesn't have an armor rating! I wouldn't normally care execpt that everything in this game is so ugly and depressing I thought it would be nice to have someone who is sweet and pretty along with me, but I HATE her stupid burlap sack hood thing she wears, and having her wear full armor defeats the point of having a pretty female companion!

Is there a way to get her to wear something nice?




....If you haven't tried it, the Chinese Stealth Suit is pretty cool looking, and quite form fitting, but it covers her face, and she still won't take off her stupid hood unless I give her a helmet or somthing.

Unless it has a higher DT rating she won't put it on.
If you're on the PC you could use the console or mod the game to change this.

Some outfits have a higher DT, but most that make her look pretty do not have much DT at all, or are faction ones.

I just though it would've been nice to have a little eye candy in this otherwise ugly game. But if she won't wear anything other than gender neutral armor, I might as well go back to using Boone since he's stronger and a better shot.

Funny thing though was that when I dismissed Boone I took all my stuff back from him, and he was left with nothing but his underwear! ...haha, he asked me if he could have his hat back so I gave it to him along with his shades and some armor so he didn't have to wander off nekked.

Lol you're not alone with that ( though I love that hood on certain character builds. )
Boone is like that due to his quest where he gives you his hat.
The others just don't have this as an option I'm afraid.

If you want to get rid of her hood, then do the following:

- Put a Ballcap with Glasses and a pair glasses (authority/reading/sun/etc) in her inventory
- Remove the pair of glasses from her inventory so she wears the ballcap with glasses.
- Put the pair of glasses back in her inventory.

Then she'll just wear the glasses without the hood. She'll switch her hood back on now and then, but simply remove then add the pair of glasses to get it off again.
Her haircut is a bit, uh, conservative though

A few good places to find the Ballcap with glasses hat is usually around the NCRCF powder gangers often spawn with one.

Go to the White glove society. Give Veronica A Formal Outfit.You'll get An extra Perk.

if you use Mods. This one when you say to relax were staying awhile to your companion will change there outfit. Veronica will wear the ball gown you gave Her.

Yeah, I gave her the white glove outfit and she taught me some hand to hand move, but I can't get her to wear the dress.

...No idea what you mean by "mods" and telling companions to relax???

Mods are an extra file or files, that change the basic setting of the game and introduce new content.
Made by fans and gamers who like to tweak and create as much as they play.

Only available on PC, if you're on a console you can't use them.
If you're on a PC there are sites that you can download as much as you like competely free.

I believe Veronica's robes have 6DT ... so you normally need armor with more than than that (meaning Reinforced Leather Armor). Can't remember about her hat, if it has any at all it's probably 1.

Boone is the only human companion who will wear "anything," because his original default clothing shows up in his inventory (you can remove it). At least, this is true until you finish is quest, whereupon you're forced into something similar as the rest. Which I find just as annoying as you do with Veronica, hahaha!

Luckily, on the PC, so the console commands (or mods) take care of that. If I want Boone to run around in Sadistic Fiend armor, I should be allowed, darnit. :rofl:

..haha yeah, I think we should be able to dress our companions any way want. That would add a little fun to this game! ....Is it bad that I was eyeing the S&M topless hoker outfit? LOL!

haha... actually I'd just be happy if she'd wear something normal and feminine instead of power armor or that terrible hood. Too bad I'm only on the PS3.

I really hope they patch it so they wear what we tell the to wear.

I only have two mods on my game right now, one of them is remove Veronica's Hood. The one I have puts her in a Scribes Robe, with no DT as soon as you hire her the first time. This way she changes out the robe when you give her armor.

I have found, when not using that mod, that if I give her amor and a helmet, then the hood comes off. However, since her haircut is, well, fugly, having a Helmet on is no big deal and better than the hood.

Does anyone else think her robe is reminiscent of the one the talking deathclaw wore in FO2?

Very similar yes, I think it's the oasis robes from FO3 without the branches.

Though it's a nice image of V in combat as being as dangerous as a talking deathclaw.

If you have XBox Cass will wear Vera's Outfit, which looks pretty good on her. Cannot figure out how to get her to lose the ratty hat though.

Aside from the ton of companion mods out now, especially for Veronica, I just use the GECK to remove their inventory, once I have a companion with me, I make a little .esp that set's their stats, fixes their face, sets them essential and removes all their inventory so I can dress them how I want, then I tick the box of the .esp in the launcher and away I go with a clean slate out of my companions. I'm using other mods now to change them but that's how I did it back in the day before all the mods came out.
