Hi

Just finished the Forbidden Legend quest and got disarmed several times. Have searched the cave but can't locate any of my missing weapons. I don't want to just move on as I'm missing glass Battleaxe and several other significant weapons. I tried loading an earlier save and trying again but you always seem to get disarmed several times in this fight.

Do I have to spend ages combing the whole are?

Do they end up in a chest somewhere?

The weapon should fall on the floor right where you got disarmed

Unfortunately some Weapons can become dislodged from the Cell and become lost forever You need to be very thorough in searching the cell, a Weapon can get stuck under a body after Shouts get used. A weapon can get lodged in the cracks or be hidden just under the surface of a Carpet, or the Texture that covers a Floor.

I happened to me only yesterday with my Imperial character I am playing. I made myself a fully enhanced mace and had it shouted out of my hand by a Draugr Deathlord whilst doing the final battle under Solitude in the quest against the Wolf Queen. I am only light armor but am good with restoration so I was running back and forth healing myself whilst trying to find it but no where was it to be seen. In the end I had to make do with picking up an ebony axe which I am not perked up as much with. Even when clearing the place I still could not find my mace. Luckily it is not a unique weapon so I was able to make a new one

This is yet another frustrating aspect of this game.

On my last character i lost three Dawnbreakers

Know that feel, bro. I got shouted at Bleak Falls Barrow and disarmed and it took me 20 minutes to find my weapon. Meanwhile, I ran for my life in circles. I didn't realize my weapon was actually launched beyond where I was.
