gfwl support?

Post » Fri Jan 21, 2011 6:51 pm

I am wondering if Skyrim will be on Games for Windows LIVE (also know as LIVE), I think it worked really well on fallout 3 and since you can still sell gfwl titles on steam I don't see an issue with it.

however there has been no word so I don't know if they will or not.

99% of my crashes on Fallout 3 went away after I disabled GFWL. So no thank you.

GFWL is a blight with no equal, only surpased by Uplay.

I hate steam (eh I like running TES games on multiple computers that I have) AND I hate games for Windows LIVE!!!

I hope Beth just does it right and doesn't connect Skyrim to any 3rd party software.

Why I won't ever touch anything that uses it again:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=gfwl+gta+4+problem&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
I deinstalled everything dealing with that conjured insanity called "live" after that, including msn (still using the protocol, but other clients).

What, at the same time? Because Steam will allow you to run it on as many PCs as you like, so long as you're not logged into the same account on two PCs at the same time - but as TES is offline, you can just go into offline mode and play them on... multiple PCs at the... same time?

And even Steamworks has left a bad taste in my mouth...almost make me wish for GFWL...almost. They need something altogether different.

For my family members. Lol, I had no idea that you could play in offline mode... :celebration:

What about an option to use or not to use it?

As long as it's implemented the same as in Fallout 3 (that is, completely optional: I can uninstall it and the game will still run just fine), why not? One more option for people who want to use it.

The same goes for Steam, really. As long as I don't have to have Steam installed to play, it can optionally support it as well.

No please no. GFWL was aweful in Fallout 3, a huge mess I don't want to ever see again. Steamworks just works but if not anything other than GFWL.

Well, as long as Steamworks stays a cost-effective method, it will follow us through PC gaming. I don't see that changing, really, unless Valve suddenly turns completely evil.

As long as I don't have to bother with it, because I loathe anything online related to my games, sure. Otherwise, hell no.

I'd prefer castrating myself with a butter knife and close the wound with seasalt and Frank's red hot sauce.
