I still have the same glitch before the update. I hate it when everyone has a different problem in the same subject >.>

I'll do some more testing. It might have been a fluke chance that I didn't crash.

Update.
Nope, the script is still causing a freeze when attacking.
Sometimes you can kill a bunch of NPCs and then all of a sudden it decides to crash, but that's how random it is for me.

I went through the code and checked over the time-stamp stuff... I have no idea why it's not synced, but I'm noticing the same issue there.
Funny thing is, it's something like 6 hours off, yet I'm using Windows functions to grab the time. Unless it's saving all timestamps in UTC or something...
I also looked into sorting the results. It may be possible, however how I have the code written, it won't be easy at the moment. It's due for a rewrite anyway, so... We'll see if I get the time in the near future to fix that (if I do, sorting will definitely make it in).

Am I the only one who does not get any files created whatsoever after using the census log, "Record Data" or any other option?

Ok, figured out the problem (at least for me). Turns out the culprit was the '(apostrophe?) I had in the middle of my name. Made a new character with all my mods activated, but with a name without apostrophe, and it worked like a charm...!

...The troublesome part is, I like the apostrophe ;_;
Perhaps something can be done?

Anyway, am off to sleep. I just had this idea in the middle of the night, and woke up to try it XD

That's a Windows thing. It won't allow an apostrophe in a file name, and the CNE program uses the exact name of the character to make the file. Perhaps a filter that will change illegal chars into - or something neutral? It's what another program I use does. Changes : and ' into -

According to my windows, the characters not allowed are \ / > < ? | * : " (which is a different character altogether from ')

Hmm... so it is. Probably some sort of coding thing, then.

Ah, good eye. That confirms problems that others have had. I would have assumed that MWSE would have actually removed invalid characters when creating a file...guess not. I have a LOT of mods to go update now. :banghead:

You can ignore my last PM Undreamt. And thanks a bunch!

Has anybody had the crash happen when fighting a creature, or is it only with NPCs?

I believe I have fixed the oddness with the search feature when searching for classes. Note that there may be up to a five minute delay after updating a character before they can be properly searched.

The problem is this fix caused another problem with the census stats. That one's going to require some real thinking to get it working right.

I'm at work now, so am limited to working on the site itself. Once I get home today I will repair the file name bug, and take another crack at the CTDs.

-Their is still a possiblity that if you go to the website the spotlight character says "There are no characters in the database."

I have solved this.

Also the stats and search functions should all be accurate now.

Only NPCs.

Edit: A minor suggestion for the site: Could the Active Mod List and the Badge Legend open in a new window or a popup by default?

No, I want to avoid pop-up windows for validation reasons. GHF is already toeing the line for allow forum links to open in a new window...I don't want to lose search ranking (although I'm not sure what could bump me down for a search for "Fliggerty." :hehe: )

However, I intend to put them into a mouse-over popup window that closes when you move the mouse. Well, I intend to do that for the badge legend. I probably won't for the mod list because that has links available.

Ah, okay. Yeah, just having a couple of lines of explanation when onmouseover should be more than enough. Will the creatures/humanoids killed badges work? Or are they related to the crashing script?

I'll take care of that in the program (so it doesn't try to search for the wrong file). I think Boost has a function that'll handle it, just have to pick what character to replace bad ones with.

I'm going to use Ajax and have a whole screen pop up; it will be identical to the existing legend just won't be a separate page.

They are related. However I won't let a stupid crash stop me from implementing a feature I want.

Let's just replace the bad characters with 0. Seems simple enough. I'll post here once I get the full definitive list of the characters I am going to parse out.

The odd thing is that ' seems to be a valid Windows filename character. Obviously it isn't working here though, so it will be added to the list. These are the characters that I will replace with 0: ' \ / : * ? " < > |

So if i were to name my character Wolf|Theif it would change to Wolf0Theif? Would it be possible to make it a _ so it looks nicer like Wolf_Theif?
BTW: I know its a little late becuase its beta now but could you mabye add the ability for recorded videos in the screenshot section. Something like the videos you use on your forums.
EDIT: ive looked threw the screenshot section btw and uploaded 10 test pics. you can see them on my screenshot page, i would say it needs less spacing between them but bigger pictures and more than one page. Mabye coments could apear below the screenshots.

No. But it doesn't matter, this is all "behind the scenes" stuff. Your character's name will still display properly.

I've implemented the replacing of those characters. It wasn't too hard really, but I had to delve into the world of "whilex." That's always scary...hard freezes are never fun to get out of. Fortunately it only happened once this time around. :hehe:

As for the gallery, I will be "prettying it up" a bit at some point. Right now I just wanted something that works. I've not yet decided what to do about video. However I end up handling it, it will most definitely involve Youtube. I have no interest in hosting videos.

Will do. Starting playing with it, but MinGW is throwing a fit when it tries to compile Boost.Strings (which is really weird, I just used it the other day with no problems for a Morrowind chatbot). I need to beat that into submissions, and I'll get you a good copy of the exe. I've got it working with all the new messages and whatnot, just have to fix this then.

Have that saved, it's a good one. I didn't know it was from that site, though. A lot of those are funny.

Just let me know how it goes. I won't be able putting out an update until I solve the CTDing during combat thing, so there's no urgent rush right now.

I've added skill and attribute fortification/draining display now.

Is it necessary to do the entire "setting this thing up" each time I disable and then enable the mod?

Also, the gold reward is a bit of an exploitable thing :D
