Exactly ^^

And the money, as little as it is, DOES help in the start, especially if you don't use alchemy or go for easy high-priced stuff immediately.

Edit: On the website, is it possible to have a notification for comments on characters/photos?
EditEdit: Again on the website. When viewing a char, you've got a "owned by" link. Can the username there be made to link to a page showing all of that person's characters? Or will a CNE link be added to the main profile?

If you look at the page now, it shows my char first (as the last updated) but if you look at the hours, there is another char that was updated after mine, but doesn't show up before me. Why?

Also, how go the changes to the monster kill script thingie? And is there any possible way to have that data available in-game? Cliffracers killed, humanoids killed, creatures killed, by example. I like seeing these numbers go up :D

Odd, something is wrong with Epididamus' timestamp. It is showing as updated before yours, but after the next two in line...which it shouldn't be.

I do intend to make an add-on that will display these stats in a book. The idea of that is that anyone will be able to use it, whether or not they are uploading their character. It will be made after the unveiling though.

That's cool :)

How does the point system work? It doesn't appear to be based on level, which I thought it was.

Just absently curious here, but I was wondering how far off you might be from a full public release with this so far? I have been following the thread absently and find the idea very intriguing.

The exact workings of the point system is a secret; like Google, I don't want people to take advantage of any possible loopholes to increase their ranking. In a nutshell, each of the badges are worth a specific amount of points. I have assigned a value to each one based upon relative difficulty, the likelihood of earning it, and various other factors. When the character is uploaded, the total amount of points is calculated based upon those earned badges.

I really can't say when this will be complete. This last round of testing has been very informative, we are finally getting to the bottom of some serious and long-lasting bugs. There are very few features left to implement, really most of what we are doing at this point is nothing more than bug-hunting and tweaking features. I'd like to say it will be ready next week, but it certainly won't be that soon. Perhaps a month or so, perhaps less, perhaps more.

Good answer :)

Well, either way, once I get my mod list finalized here (a slow process, but well worth it for my play tastes), I will be eagerly looking forward to utilizing this creation. This is honestly probably one of the most community minded projects I can think of, really cool indeed!

Ah, okay, so it's badges, which means level and achievements give points. :) That's what I wanted to know. I was thinking up strange things such as skill levels xD

I'm happy that I managed to help, even though I didn't do much.

Took the words right out of my mouth. :D I think this project will actually get my friend to play MW a little more. (She likes the social interaction aspect of the whole thing.)

Thanks for the encouragement guys. That is exactly why I make these things that I make. :goodjob:

I've been working on the gallery. It looks a lot better now IMO. There's still some tweaks I want to do to it though. I'm also trying to decide if I want to allow comments for pictures. I'm actually leaning towards not doing that. I think that comments on the character profile are sufficient.

Also note that the thumbnails for the gallery will be a bit bigger now. This doesn't affect those that have already been uploaded, only new ones.

I have also laid the foundation for editing/deleting your own images.

Let me know what you think of the changes to the gallery.

Hmm.... the Edit and Delete buttons aren't buttons on already present images... I'll upload a dummy image to see if it's different.

Nope, not able to click on Edit/Delete links... it's just text. I'll logout and back in, see if it changes. <-- NVM, I'm dumb... "laid the foundations" not "made it so". Doh! What I get for being in a hurry.

Also, images with transparency are a bad nono, apparently. Check out the last image in Talia's gallery. xD Doesn't matter, of course, as it's made for character screens, which have no such things, but still :D

And new thumbnails don't seem to be any larger, at least on my screen. Want me to send you a screenshot of how the gallery looks?

The edit and delete buttons are only text right now. I haven't yet written the functions for those yet. I just wanted to get the ownership detection in place and get the text there.

I've just made a change to the display on the main page and the view characters page. I'm curious about what everyone thinks of the change.

I think it's the ImageMagick size conversion that is breaking the transparency. I'll see what I figure out about it.

Unless it's thicker table borders, I honestly don't see anything different. >.>

Can you have the default sorting for the View Characters page be set to Name, or Last Updated? At the moment it's by char ID, which means new chars will be waaaay back at the end.

And as I said above, no change in the thumbnails.

Maybe refresh your cache. I added a background gradient to the table cell that each character is displayed in.

I'm not sure how I'm going to make the final sorting for that end up. It's something I'm still debating.

I'm not very fluent with ImageMagick. I've posted a thread on the support forums asking about tweaking my code to preserve transparency and to have better success with the thumbnail resizing. I changed it from 100x100 max to 120x120 max, though it certainly doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Edit: I found why it wasn't resizing new images. Go ahead and upload some more if you have them and see if you can see a difference.

Yeah, the resizing works properly now. But not the transparency. We'll see what the ImageMagick forumers have to say about it later. TBH though, it's not really a priority. I think it is going to come up only on a rare occasion. And I may actually even end up saving all of the thumbnails as jpg anyways to help speed up the transfer rates.

Strange... the thumbnails look the same to me, even the ones I added earlier. The resizing DOES work, but it makes little difference on my monitor :)

100x75 looks very much like 120x75 :)

And yeah, transparency isn't something vital. Game screens have none, and it's what the gallery is for.

Take a look at the Background Story portion of the character profile screen. I've added a background there to make it readable. It needs to be modified somehow, but I'm not entirely sure what it needs. Or shall I remove that background altogether?

The new background looks out of place there. I think it was readable without it. Not sure why that part needs changing, though :/

Updated Talia just now, and not all active spell effects show up. I also put up a screenshot which shows all effects. Or rather, that I have more than that.

Unfortunately not all spell effects can be detected...we are working with a buggy engine. Which effects are they specifically that are missing?
