Fliggerty died? Oh noes... :P
Don't worry, I could keep the project up. :P

I've been making a few more tweaks to the client, but there's on last issue with custom data not getting read right that'll take a little more discussion and we'll have that working.

Question, is the uploader and everything working correctly now?

The uploader that you have should be working okay for the data that had already worked. We almost have it working for the extended data, that stuff which I will get in the game with scripts.

New update worked perfect.
(Except my location, but I believe I last saved in a mod cell.)

The location is completely off for me as well. Also, Health, Magicka and Fatigue got wrong values before - now they are just 0.

same as above.

I noticed that if you make a new character, give it the same name and CNE registration variables... the website creates a new profile.

The location and some other data will work with the extended data upload, which isn't functioning just yet.

It doesn't compare character names with those in the database. All that is used to identify a character is the combination of your PIN and the character ID.

Interesting. Then why are there two "Cerpin Taxt" profiles? I used the same PIN and Char ID to upload it, thinking it would just over-write the profile.

Let's see, in the DB there is a Cerpin Taxt with the ID of 1013, and a Cerpin Taxt with the ID 1035. So which ID did you use? It shouldn't have uploaded over the other one.

Really? Hm, I must have used 1035. On my notes, I first wrote 1013 and then crossed it out, but that was during the initial alpha release, so I'm pretty sure I used 1035 all along...

I don't know. Whatever. Who knows what the heck I did :P
I'm assuming you're just going to wipe the database clean before full release anyways, right?

BTW, the map function looks very cool, even if it's not working yet.

It just zooms over it. I requested on their wiki that they put a marker to indicate the coords put in.

Not sure if I'll wipe it. We'll see how they get updated as we make progress.

The uploader available does not have any of the mod stuff added yet.

Since we are working on back-end stuff for the time being, and there's nothing new and flashy to keep my beloved testing volunteers busy, I have a discussion topic for you.

From the perspective of those who have uploaded their characters and seen the small bit we have working so far, what do you think the ultimate potential of this could be? Where would you envision this going beyond simply a character gallery?

haha as impossible as this sounds, multiplayer.

though perhaps taking the idea of Pming in game. only centralizing it so that it simply goes from character to uploader to CnE to Upload/downloader and into game.

Well, you did say the farthest...

Multiplayer. Like a lan game. Two players being able to play together.

If that's impossible, then perhapes something like a shared saved game? Two people playing the same save file with different characters. They can't play at the same time, but the changes one makes carrys over to the other persons save.

For example. A level 35 dark elf kills and steals the Sheild of Auril in Ghost Gate. He saves and quits in Dagoth Ur's Citidel. Another player loads this game save, as a level 15 Wood Elf. He last Save/quit at, say, Balmora. So he loads up there. He goes to ghost gate to take the Sheild of Auriel, only to find out it's now gone.

This would be neat I think. Something for friends to do together. Turning Morrowind into an MMO would be a horrible, if not impossible idea. But making it two players, or even FAKE two players would be extremly interesting. I know some of my friend would love it at least.

I can't make any changes to the engine or the save file format. Multiplayer is not something I can accomplish, nor would I work on it if I could (I tend to prefer single player, which is why I got MW in the first place. ;) )

What can be done with The Census and Excise Office?

What if the characters uploaded by other people could be downloaded and imported as an NPC?

Just thinking out loud.

Well, I'm no modder so I don't really see much. My main reason for wanting this mod so badly is for the ability to show off, and give myself some drive for doings things in game. Perhapes you can run contests and stuff? I dunno, just an interesting idea I thought I'd toss out.
