GHF is down?

Post » Thu Nov 19, 2009 9:33 pm

So I just tried to go to GHF only to find that it won't load, and after checking http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/http://www.fliggerty.com/, I'm convinced it's down.

Anybody else having this problem? Or does anyone know why? It's never been down like this for me before, not even when it got haxxed...

There was a topic earlier that might have something to do with it ( might, im not sure ) but im not sure if i can say it on the officials. Im not sure if the information is wanted to be released. I will PM members of GHF though.

Was the topic on GHF? If not where can I find it?

Yes, I am aware of this, I haven't had time to convert my PM's to emails, but when I get a chance I will do so.

I wouldn,t worry too much Fliggerty works for the site that supports the forum.

It's been down a couple times. Last I remember was when Fligg updated phpBB, another time he was doing some module installation stuff. Both times it didn't last too long and came back up with new features.

It was on ghf.

Please PM me whatever you heard/saw. I didn't catch anything like that last I was there, and I don't think Bryss is prone to idle rumor. Don't worry about privacy (I have moderator access there, so I usually see things you don't, but apparently it got flipped this time :P).

Edit: And I can verify that at least one of Fliggerty's servers is still on and functioning, I have access to that. Will be checking best as I can what's up.

To forestall any potential rumors, the GHF thread referenced is related to Fligg's last Twitter update, stating he had to go in for an appendix removal.

http://twitter.com/Fliggerty

Do not take this next part as absolute fact, it is based on 2nd and 3rd hand information. From what Wolf told me, Bryss posted mentioning that Fligg had to make another visit to the hospital. I'm assuming he went to a doctor, was told he had appendicitis, and had to go to the hospital later for the operation (a quick and safe one). At least, that's what happened when I had it a few years back. Having an appendix out isn't really a big deal, it's a quick snip and snatch and a couple days on the sofa.

As far as I know, this is completely unrelated to the site. Fliggerty hasn't shut down GHF before when he was going to be away for a brief period, but GHF has been down for brief periods while he was working on it, or the ISP was doing work. That's a far more likely scenario. Personally, I'd bet he's back and recovering in front of GHF's admin control panel. :P
Edit: Or online and reading this thread. >.>

If GHF isn't back up in a couple days, I'll try to get in touch with Fligg, Jac, and the rest of the magisters and find out more. But at this point, there's no reason to worry.

Hope he gets better.

Interesting fact, the appendix isnt actually vestigial like many people think and is in fact home to a bio-film. Problems can occur with change of bacteria there.

Hi guys. I just called WestHost. They are having a routing problem, they don't anticipate it being back online for 4-5 hours. Only happens when I am not around.

As for me, I've got a morphine button so I'm great. Wolf, anything about me on GHF is always welcome to be posted here. It is all part of the same community.

So I came in to get my appendix out this morning. I've had pain for three weeks, but all tests came back normal. So we finally decided to just take it out. But the doctor couldn't find it. Either it is in an odd spot, or I don't have one. He has never seen such a thing in 25 years. So I'm still in the hospital, waiting to find out what will happen next.

Good to hear (well... good to hear something definite).

Awesome stuff.

o.0 you're a mutant?
Good luck with having it out, then, or whatever they decide to do. Thanks for posting and letting us know (and not killing me for trying to handle things :P) and have fun with the jello! :D

I would beware, new medical "conditions" are always grounds for case studies. :biglaugh:

Not sure if drugs work the same way, but Einstein said he would hold a metal ball while trying to fall asleep and then just as he was getting there, he would end up dropping it to wake himself up. Said that he came up with the best ideas by doing this. I am not sure if this story is true.

I wish you well Fliggerty. I hate hospitals. I give you a lot of credit for being able to stay at one for a long period of time. That always drives me nuts. Hopefully you're not too bored just sitting there watching commercials. ;)
Get well soon.

Hmm...still down. VERY glad I'm not at work tonight.

Actually almost all of my groundbreaking scripting ideas I have had were acquired as I was drifting off or just waking up. And the solutions to the tough problems whilst in the shower.

Peachy, thanks for taking charge. Expect a little extra something on your next pay check. :goodjob:

Oh, and I'm not too board. Brought my Wii. Not been playing but it's great watching it being played while stoned.

Hey, Fligg. Can I be a magister...?

Are you a member in good standing? If not, then no. Our magisters are picked from our pool of mouths when a position opens and there are quite a few mouths who are in line for the next position when it opens up. Anyway, this should really be discussed privately with Fliggerty.

Back on topic: the site is till down. I hope the ISP gets their act together soon. :swear:

Doesn't it svck when you get tons of brilliant modding ideas while not being able to put them to use? :P
...I wish I had my computer back...

Anyways, good luck with your recovery fligg, [simpsons refrence]good thing your appendix wasn't about to burst though, kaboom! [/simpsons refrence] :D
