Ghoulification in Fallout 4?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 7:40 am

I really dont mind how new Ghouls are made, I just want them to keep producing less Feral Ghoul Reavers. THey hurt me bad.. but make for awesome screen shots as that attack a Deathclaw!

Technically, Skyrims "contract vampirism" mechanic could be adapted for player ghoulification, but gameplay-wise there are just too many things to consider (NPC reaction, cure: yes or no, rad effect, going feral (=game over)) to make it actually work.

Therefore: better not.

That bit in the fallout bible is actually saying that it can't be FEV plus RADS as a formula, exclusively. Developers couldn't agree on how they were made, so there is no definitive answer, ergot, FEV not being part of the equation goes against nothing- it wasn't ever truly put on paper how they were made.

Is there anything suggesting Moira Brown had any FEV in her system in F3?

Considering Moira gave me additional ... abilities with some formula of her own chosing its perfectively possible she may have dosed herself with FEV whilst writing her book. Hell I GREW Bits because of her Anti radiation drugs.

But is there anything to actually suggest that FEV is within her means?

Thats like asking .. is there anything to suggest why our house is 2 stories in Megaton and not a one story like everyone elses? No idea.

Moira is a lady of many talents who trades with a lot of different people and has shop security. Its possible that she could of acquired a canister from FEV from a Scavenger who had no idea what it was and traded it to Moira for some Sugar bombs. We just dont know.

How exactly was this disproved? If ghouls aren't the result of a certain type of radiation exposure:

What exactly happened in the Dunwich building?

Chris said the Fallout Bible is no longer canon http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Bible

Chris said he doesn't think it should be canon so that Bethesda doesn't feel like they HAVE to follow it.

However, both Todd Howard and Emil said they used the bible when making Fallout 3, and Fallout 3 refrences/uses ideas from the Bible, making all the used material canon.

Max radiation poisoning mixed with high endurance = ghoulification, add extremely negative karma = feral. Other ferals no longer attack you, but every other npc you come across looks like dike Cheney, which is why you attack every npc you see.

I was referring to the idea that radiation had to be applied OVER TIME to cause ghouls.

In Fallout 3 Moria from Megaton, and in NV, the peoples of Searchlight, Dry Wells, and the Long 15, suffer instantaneous ghoulification.

That is the worst fear ~ that they would do this in the game; and in just that way.

Ghoulification should take a long time, and if done right, shouldn't be all that enjoyable. Since they won't make the *feature* a hardship, one cannot presume that it will be done right. :sadvaultboy:
(It'll just be a racial reskin, with a few ghoul perks, and an advertised cure. If we're lucky, they will remove the ghoul perks once cured. :sadvaultboy: )

Ah, I see. I actually thought the instant ghoulification was really strange. Not sure how that was supposed to work.

I think it would be due to whatever genetic X factor that causes ghoulifcation to begin with.

I'll be seriously pleased if were given the option to play as something other than just a basic boring human.

I kinda liked the FEV explanation. Kinda two opposing forces at a stalemate. FEV keeps you alive while radiation tears you down.

Ghoulification I don't know about, but getting some kind of mutation due to radiation exposure I wouldn't mind.

Kind of miss growing an extra toe here and there. ( FO 2 )

Was kinda hoping for more appendages to appear, would have been the New Reno pormstar of the decade for sure then.

Oh nevermind Gizmo I get your meaning...

Can you prove though that Bethesda won't make the player hated? They had that stuff in Elder Scrolls with vampires up until Dawnguard and Dawnguard no longer making vamps hated may have just been an unfixed bug. Ghouls and vamps aren't the same thing anyways vampirism is a slow process while ghoulifying would probably happen instantly. Its much harder to hide the fact that your a ghoul since there's no "stages" to it.

There's also the fact that this time they are focusing on a stronger narratI've so if they were going to add in ghoulifying I see no reason there wouldn't be draw backs.

Even if there were no drawbacks and they were simply treated as ugly humans with powers Ill still be glad theres more than just human.

My Wish... and FEV exposure actually having an effect on you... And the FEV changing you into something other than a super mutant... I'm pushing it, am I?
