Ghouls and drug use

So it's fairly well established at this point that ghouls are largely resistant to drugs (creation of ultrajet in f3), how is Hancock a junkie? Jet is one of the strongest highs and they needed to make ultrajet just to get an effect. Mentats would be like candy to him.

Well, he was a junkie before he was a ghoul - so I imagine Mentats were like candy to him even back then. Especially with some of the stuff he's been into - Ultrajet is probably like a rare treat for him.

Yup, this. Plus he's only been a Ghoul for a decade or two, he mentions being a smoothskin about 10-20 years ago at one point, so maybe the benefits of being a ghoul dont translate instantly and have yet to take place.

BTW shouldnt this be spoilers forum?

He is not a ghoul. Never try meth kids. Not even once.
