Giants herding cows?

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 1:29 am

So I was at whiterun, went there to pick up a few things before I went on the quest after you rescue Esbern (the one you have to meet up at a place) when I saw a giant crossing the stone bridge near the fort in front Whiterun (sorry I don't remember many of the names)
and it was herding a painted cow! I've never seen one like that before, it had like tribal paintings, really odd.

After that I saw Nahaghiiv being "resurrected" near Rorikstead, then the first ancient dragon (at least to me) near the mine in front of where you're supposed to meet up.
Anyway lots of things I've never seen before, but back to the topic.
Has anyone seen a giant herding a painted or non painted cow before??? I only see them with mammoth (even killing dragons if they mess with the mammoth)

You put spoilers in there man, doesn't ruin my day, but I'd have preferred not seeing them.

There's cows in this game?

OK, not sure why a Giant would not herd a Cow. It's like a snack compared to a Mammoth. Hey, that's it. When you see a Giant herding a cow, it is because the Giant is brown bagging their lunch that day.

The cows are sacrifices made to the giants by farmers so that the giants will leave the farms alone. I ran into a farmer heading off to sacrifice his cow. Apparently they are painted so that the giants know they are sacrifices.

first of all sorry for posting in the wrong are, Im new to the forum.

what theunderking is saying relates to what I saw. I followed tge giant just before he started going uphill to their camp. and then suddlenly a dragon appeared. the cow runned off and that was it.

Im wondering if you can ever see them eating or killing the animals kn their camps.

Since the Cow has blue painted on him I always figured it was a Paul Bunyan reference.
