Gifting a 2nd copy

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 7:46 pm

Well, originally I thought out of the leak I would pre-order a 2nd copy to show my support to Crytek but I realise with the feedback that may of been a over-reaction.

But anyway, my 2nd copy I'll gift to my friend as he doesn't always buy his games.

Thats a really nice gesture but you dont need to do that. I'm sure Crytek gets the message :)

heh, very noble and your support is much appreciated :)

You shouldn't feel the need to pay for some other cheap-skate's copy though. The worst part of it all is this build is nowhere near final build quality and the thought of people ruining the experience for themselves with a really early & buggy copy of the game is really saddening. I sincerely hope that people who were considering buying the game and no longer are take this into consideration. People shouldn't let their impatience spoil it for not only the developer but themselves too.

Yes, I think they'd appreciate that, but like Shackdaddy836 said, you don't have to do it. Well, I will make it, but I'll buy PC and Xbox...

Thanks. I felt bad for everyone at Crytek and I just wanted to do something positive.

Hopefully it helps in some small way.

I've pre-ordered the Nano Edition for PC and the PS3 version. I hope they find a way to deal with these leaks.

I'm buying it through Steam when it comes out, and I might be buying a copy for Xbox 360 as well.

Noble?! Pointless & wasteful more like. Donate the money to charity if you want to help someone who really needs it.

Nice attitude.

Am I supposed to justify my kind gesture? I'm trying to support my favourite developer, not save the world.

I also purchased two copies.

One from Gamestop (Limited Edition) for the xbox
And also bought one from Steam.

I figured I can play with my friends who are more unfortunate than me, and do not have a computer capable of enjoying the game; so I bought the xbox version.

And since steam carries my game wherever I go without me having to physically carry the game, it's a win-win situation. Not to mention since I pre-ordered it through steam, I automatically get limited edition on my PC too. :)

Since I know I already love the **** outa this game via-xbox demo, I do not regret my decision at all. Both versions are already paid for. :D

I've already preordered mine @ thehut! :)
Afterall I didn't think that the leak was a bad thing! Many people i know preordered it because they already liked the leaked version!

Can't wait for the demo though, and the full game for sure.

I preorderd mine, and to prove it, here's a photo of my preorder of it.

I've had it preorderd sense last summer, or longer, and I'm willing to wait another month to play the game. If I can wait 2 years to play Star Craft 2, I can wait another month to play Crysis 2.

I'm so cheap, I only paid 5 bucks so far in my pre-order!

It's unfortunate the leak happened, if I like the game a lot in the PC version, I might consider getting it for the PC version to play with my friends in real life, but that only depends how good Crysis 2 really is. I know some who are getting it for sure, I'm just not making the move yet because I need to see the PS3 version of the review first

Hey,

Being a huge fan of Crytek and their games, I'm concerned that the recent torrent leak will negatively affect future PC development.

You must be very gullible to believe that. VERY!

There are 2 kinds of ppl: those that wanted to buy and those that didn't. Can you please tell me which of this ppl were influenced into either buying or not the game? EXACTLY! NO ONE!

Those that wanted to buy it, will STILL buy it. And those that wanted to pirate it, will still do it and even did it already. ANd of course, they will do it again too with the retail version.

You want to know what this "leak" actually did? Got more sales for crysis 2! Yeah, exactly. From ppl with the same pea brain as yours. Enjoy your multiple copies of crysis 2!

Your 'kind gesture'. Do you not realise that game publishers in particular, who are profiting from your 'nobility' (incidentally advertised on a public forum for all to see) would quite happily rip you off by forcing e.g. the release of a broken product?

They don't give a flying frack for anything other than your naivety for giving them more money.

You want to help the industry, promote anti-piracy. Throwing away your money gives further evidence to these people of how gullible gamers can be.
