girlfriends/boyfriends

I live by the ideology, "Actively seeking a relationship is unhealthy. If someone comes along and it's right, then it will happen."

That's exactly the ideology I live by, and that's how my relationship got started. Someone came along and it was right, but unfortunately in the end... it wasn't. Oh well.

Or, as Def Jam Poet Poetri said;

"From now on, I'm dating myself....until someone better comes along."

I don't see why there's so much cynicism. There's no right way to go about it. Yes, there are those who are in a relationship, and they're happy that way. There are those who are single and find themselves better off that way. Just because I'm in a committed relationship doesn't mean I think everyone should be and I make snarky comments about how everyone needs to find someone because not everyone does. And if I were single, I wouldn't go and make snarky comments about the perception of relationships 'cause not everyone needs to be single and it would just make me come off as some cystic-acne covered neckbeard who is going to bed with his (or her) http://2zod.com/news/Real_Doll_sm.jpg.

Anyway, I've been in a wonderful relationship for the past 20 months and 8 days and it's just the best. We've begun planning our wedding and it makes me so excited.

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy either way. I was in an "off-and-on" relationship for 6 1/2 years. Just, right now, single works for me. I'm not jealous or think that anyone in a relationship is "stupid and wasting their money and time".

Also, congrats to you two on planning the wedding :D

I have been married to the same guy for over 40 years now. He is a dandy when he isn't annoying. He says the same about me.

Why am I not surprised that almost 80% of the people on a gaming forum are single

Ah, the week can't go by without a relationship thread :P.

I was getting worried myself about that

As for me? Nope. Been single for 2 years. Don't mind it really though, when I find a nice girl and date her, it will be nice. But until then I'm fine.

Single now, joined the Army and went away for a year my girl of three years didn't feel the same as I still did. I figured out why they always portray the soldier losing his girl in movies to "jody"..[censored] actually happens. Feels bad man.

I'm a mostly asocial geek/nerd like almost everyone else here. What do you think? I'll admit I wouldn't mind a relationship, if I could find the time under all my schoolwork.

Just find it really sad that there are people out there that actually think relationships are only about exchanging gifts/dates for six. That is not the right mentality to have. I think it will only hinder someones chances for love.

Every single human relationship of any kind is about mutual benefit. In prostitution, one person gains money, and the other what they were seeking. Many women have a tendency to feel that they are benefiting sufficiently to have a relationship as long as they are taken care of monetarily. Many also require other benefits, like being happier when around you. There are still a significant number who don't find the latter to be sufficient. Neither party may even realize how big a role money is playing in it, until someone ends up losing their job, and the other realizes that even though they still enjoy his/her company, without the money, it just aint enough.

BUT YOU CAN'T GET MILK FOR FREE IF YOU DON'T OWN A COW.

Unless perhaps you just lend your grazing land to people who do own cows, in exchange for milk.

Wait, you own a brothel?

Aww, that's super cute. :D

... my ex kept nagging me to stop playing and "do something useful for once" or "start acting like a girl". So he had to go, obviously. No non-gamey boyfriends for me, kthnx.
