Sorry, but it struck me the wrong way when I read:

"Genuinely, if Jessica Alba came to my door and started purporting sixual favours, I wouldn't know as I wouldn't answer the door."

"Wives are no better. I think because its not on the Wii with big-headed characters that have no legs and one arm movement."

"5'2", freckles, brunette, 110 pounds, C-Cup"

I'm sorry if I took this the wrong way . . . but I do have to wonder if this thread belongs here. I'll go away now . . .

1. he'd be too busy watching skyrim.

2. some girls don't like violent games and would rather play on a family system.

3. he's telling us about his girlfriend what?

I don't see anything sixist there, and I consider myself a feminist.

Anyway, back on topics.
I've tried to get my girl into gaming, she won't bite.
But I suppose that's a good thing, in a way. No need to share :celebration:

From Arwen:

Well, I feel obligated to assist Arwen in this.
I've noticed, many times, that meanings get misconstrued when the words are read. For instance, "Oh, screw you." That could go one of two ways. It all depends on your little mental voice that reads it. If you read it one way, it's mean. Another way, not so much. While it is preferable to assume that people aren't being offensive, this is unrealistic, and so, excusable.

While I didn't say anything(yet, mind you.), I apologize, Arwen, and anyone else who felt offended, on behalf of all good-natured guys everywhere. Usually, we say sixist things because they're funny, not because we're sixist.

She's 5'2", has freckles, is a brunette, weighs about 110 pounds, and has a C-Cup.

Is her existence sixist now? I'm confused as to how this is sixist. Should I have lied?

Amusingly, she's sitting next to me on the couch at the moment. When she read the bit about her existence...she pouted and made puppy dog eyes at me. Something like this...but not at all :sadvaultboy:

Most girlfriends may not appreciate Skyrim, but if she appreciates you for you, then it's nothing to worry about. It is a two way street, however. Involve her in the experience, she may like it. Be open to doing things she likes as well. There has to be balance.

@Arwen I see what you are saying actually. Oh and there is a female character screenshot in the latest PS magazine. It's the one looking at the walled city.

Your girlfriend is a girl?

Well a few years ago the whole "I play videogames" thing would usually come with an unexpected surprise.

:foodndrink: Amen.

I've only had one girlfriend who had a interest in video games, and on one point led to a argument over who got to play Dragon Age: Origins first that day. Well, me, being the gentlemen, stepped down and my PC was hers for the day. Only for her to give me a massive spoiler and reveal that
Spoiler
Flemeth was actually a very powerful witch who could shape-shift into a dragon.
I had waited a long time for Dragon Age and introduced her to it to then have a crucial part ruined for me.

But I've waited longer for Skyrim, with more anticipation. And I really want to just dig myself into the world like I did with Morrowind and Oblivion. While it would be nice to find a girl who I later found out was obsessing over Skyrim as much as I am, I'd also like to avoid the, "So, you going to let me on your PC so I can play Skyrim?" And the big crucial spoilers.

As I said, I want to find out everything by myself so, being single for that moment in time is a good thing for me.
