"Girlish" Heavy Armors?

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 2:30 am

Weeeeeeell, yes and no - the extent to which women are taught that being attractive and desirable is, or should be, our primary goal in life is anything but natural. But I can't really be bothered debating that. And anyway, you don't have to be wearing revealing stuff to look sixy and feminine (not that there's owt wrong with revealing clothes, just - there's more than one way to be sixy and womanly).

Skyrim is about what you make it. You want it to be about boobplate and sideboob, that's fine. But this is a public thread, so I can voice my dislike of it.

I'm a roleplayer, so that for me doesn't fly.

Gotta read the whole thread, friend:

For me, if someone told me they were a male front line soldier and they looked like Conan, I'd think it was silly too. My avatar pic is just something I did for a picture for the sole purpose of showing off muscles. I never wear that garbage while I'm actually playing.

Eh... the armors in that mod are too 'mannish' to me - at least the armors that have Pect Plates (That look like they'd be bisecting the underlying briasts) and masculine Ab Racks, and the Heavy Chitin is flat-out a step down.

An example of an armour set which I think looks quite sixy and at least somewhat feminine is the Snow Bear Armour which I have from the Immersive Armours set (character's wife wears it and looks adorable in her grumpy way) which also appears in this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22793/? Not sure if this will work but http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/22793-1-1345538164.jpg

I second this. Luckily I escaped, but heed this warning.

On a related note (attempted thread salvage incoming), why are all the body types for women in Skyrim so damn feeble? There's no muscle on them, the weight slider just makes them more...bouyant.

I so badly have to download that mod for my Ashlander. She's about as well-dressed as a wound, these days.

Wearing a dress isn't showing their ass...

Definitely agree. (Also on the stripper point.) I want a woman who looks like she could actually stand up in heavy armour/wield a 2H sword... (At least the heavy armour bulks them up a bit, so I can pretend, as long as I don't switch to a dress...)

Never said it was? And that's quite besides the point. The point is you don't have to wear something revealing, or typically "girly" to be attractive.

I'm a role player too... I'm not asking a mod that shows all but the nips. I'm just saying Bethesda did a better job at showing the male body off in armor than females

Sorry, everyone, I have google image searched women in armour and am too busy swooning to continue: http://rebloggy.com/post/snow-female-knight-armor-armour-larp-woman-knight-female-knight/42696747983

Same. My band's guitar tech (who's a girl) has a fascination with my claymore (there is no right way of saying that sentence) and she looks a lot better now she's packed on some muscle than before. In my humble opinion, of course, and I recognise my opinion shouldn't matter at the end of the day.

And she does look a damn sight tougher than most 'warriors' of Skyrim, too. I'm surprised there aren't many more mods that handle this.

That is a whole 'nother can of worms and I will not be dragged into that again. :stare: Even though I just replied to this.

I agree... I much prefer the character creation for Dragon's Dogma. SOOOO many choices for everything... You can look however you want to in that game, but skyrim is just "more or less muscles" and a few changes to the face and thats it

I'm thinking of starting a thread, you may want to stand clear of the doors

EDIT: Hate it when page-shifting means you have to go back to see your previous posts.

Lol, same here.

That's pretty awesome.

On related note, am I the only one that misses the ability to put on skirts alongside greaves?

What armor my female ( and male) character wear completely depends on the RP that I am doing. If I am playing a woman of the reach, she will probably wear forsworn armor in The Reach and fur armor ( long sleaved w/pants) in the colder area's. Mages, cloth robes or clothing...seductress might wear the bar maid's clothing ( or something slightly more covering) My Vampire hunter is earing heavy DG armor.

My male's are the same way, they wear armor ( or cloth) that is appropriate to the RP. If that is the fur kilt, then that is what it is, if it's Dwemer so be it.

btw, my "sixy" outfit in RL is a pair of well fitting jeans ( Not skin tight) and a shirt-waister blouse, and a pair of mid-heeled boots. My husband hates what he call's Hootchie clothing, on me or anyone else.

Even he think's some of the moded armors are to skimpy

The weight slider does change the thickness of the arms and thighs. The bigger problem likely isn't the mesh (Though I do wish it allowed "Brawn Hilda" bodytypes - though max weight does have a broader waist and belly), but the lack of the textures giving better muscle definition as they get larger. But I'm just as annoyed by the male bodies. Unfortunately, the game only comes with one "Bodytype", and tries scaling everything along it in a linear manner. Sorry, but human anatomy doesn't work that way.

I can agree with this, and was glad the guys got some love this time around.

Dude with the stuff you've said in this thread, I don't know what your deal is anymore. But no matter, it's your thing and that's fine. I simply dislike it and don't agree with your tastes.

As for roleplay, if you are, then you'd get what I'd mean about not wearing armor like the one in my avatar in battle. At most, my character wears that sort of thing around the house, or clothes like this in the city:

Rihanna, Beyoncé, the new Kylie vid....

That is what sells to masses in this generation.

Young girls want to be them, older women wish they were like them, men wish they were with them. Girls don't see them as dirty. They see them as "girl power".

I'm not saying it is right or wrong that is the realism of our generation. This game is marketed at this generation. A few posters despising the way of the present norm isn't going to change something that is marketed and aimed to sell and make profits

How can an armor look too mannish?

Women in Skyrim aren't likely going to have boobs much bigger than a B cup realistically speaking. Especially since the women that will be wearing these armor are going to be muscled and likely to have less fat deposits in their briasts.

It's also funny how the two default options in the game are 'surfer skinny' and 'ridiculously damn huge.' One is what you'll get to if you just forget to eat a couple days a week and go hill-walking on the side, the other takes your body well beyond its er, 'natty limit.' I've asked about going from one to the other, and am told it takes almost a decade.
