Give me a build.

So I'm getting bored with Skyrim and got the Morrowind itch again. Iv'e done every build I can think of in MW over the years.

So, give you're personal favorite build that's the most fun and challenging in you're opinion.

Many thanks.

Not to sound weird, but as a kid I used to build a Santa Claus character who would leave presents in people's houses in Solstheim. You could try that I guess haha

Wow, Captain Playjex. In a million years I would never have thought of that, but it's kind of a fun thought lol.

I'm currently playing a Mage character. Back in the day I tried magic characters but usually got discouraged, and my only 'successful' mage character just ran around summoning creatures with his items and whacking things with his uber-enchanted ebony staff. So far it's been pretty rewarding, though I hear as you get higher in level everything begins to have reflect enchantments so that might sort of svck. When I started this character he joined the Mages Guild and advanced fairly high but I roleplayed him as having been discouraged by the corruption and incompetence of the guild's higher-ups and consequently 'jumped ship' to the Telvanni when he visited Sadrith Mora to do quests for the Argonian Mages Guild questgiver there (Slinks-In-Tree-Shade?). He still does quests for 'Slinks because my character feels that he's one of the better guild mages, but doesn't intend to ask for any further advancement or aspire to Arch Mage. Currently rediscovering the joys of House Telvanni.

One idea I had awhile back was where you would roleplay as an Ashlander. So, get an Ashlander name (if it twists your tongue to say it aloud, you're on the right track) and go light armor, mysticism, marksman, maybe spear/longblade/shortblade and run around in Netch leather or Chitin armor ranging through the Ashlands, doing quests for the smaller towns and build your reputation as a sort of 'folk hero' for the less civilized regions of Vvardenfell before you feel the call to take up the Nerevarine prophecies. Depending on how you roleplay your character you might also do the Morag Tong, as they're pretty 'traditional, conservative Dunmer' and have a skillset that would fit with the ones I outlined above.

Another idea I had, which I'm eager to try, is to play as a Tribunal Pilgrim/Warrior. Start out wearing plain robes and join the Tribunal Temple, doing pilgrimages, helping the poor, etc. You begin the game as a stave wielder, and using some magic but as you progress and become deeper involved with the Tribunal Temple and Dagoth Ur you 'ordain' yourself as an Ordinator, and begin wearing their armor (get a mod to avoid their pesky kill on sight attitude towards people wearing their gear), drop your staff in favor of the ebony mace and gilded shield. Also make a point to read a lot of the Temple-authored books, even the ones that don't seem to make much sense like the 36 Sermons of Vivec, I'd roleplay it as you're a warrior-scholar trying to understand the words of everyone's favorite Warrior-Poet through study and meditation. Also spend most of your money on charity to the poor, donations to altars in temples (ALWAYS make donations when you visit a temple), and of course training. You should never have more than a thousand or even a few hundred gold on hand to reflect that you're impoverished and use any extra cash to benefit the temple or the people of Vvardenfell at large. Or by bettering yourself through training of course.

For the most fun+challenging in one package, I go with the Nightblade preset Class, or a close variant custom Class that swaps a skill or two. You're basically a stealth mage with a sideline in knifework.

It's a tricky character because you typically don't have many Health points, don't have loads of high damage spells like a regular mage, and aren't as good at fighting as the usual hulking warrior sorts. You have to make all your skills work together to make up for their individual weaknesses

Making all your skills work together is a major part of why this character is fun. Illusion, Alteration and Mysticism give you a wide array of great utility spells so there are loads of unconventional options for dealing with problems. Shortblades are actually really good and one of the best weapon skills (spam enchanted dagger blows to see what I mean), and Sneak makes up for you being frail. To top it all off, being a badass magical ninja type is just cool.
