GIve us a PC screen

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 8:10 am

I read recently a lot of posts about graphics and more generally complain of little improvement over the current fees.
Several times I happened to say that it is impossible to compare a screen of a console, even if pushed to the maximum, with a computer.
So I ask if, during the E3, they publishing a high-resolution screen taken from a high hand pc.
Only then can we really argue on pc's potential

This would be cool to see, but have you seen the poll on Oblivion vs. Skyrim graphics? Skyrim's MUCH better has 200 votes. Skyrim isn't better, has 5 or so. I think your info is flawed...

Anyways, the 360 shots of Skyrim destroy the maxed out PC shots of Oblivion, which to me is awesome!

I'm sure Todd will play the demo on PC as he did with Oblivion. Would make sense.

Don't be so sure. The demo for the reporters a while ago I think was on the 360.

E3 will have an abundance of info I'm sure. When has Bethesda ever just outright ignored its community? *cough* EA/Ubisoft *cough*.

Is true, the console version of skyrim is much better than vanilla Oblivion, but many pc users know that we have a lot more potential for creating an incredibly detailed world.
They comment the pictures of 360 as if they were from pc and it's wrong.
No user PCs have already seen a picture of the game.

Too much emphasis on graphics.
If I were todd I'd revert it to 2d or text based just to spite the sooks.

Even though I'm strictly a PC gamer when it comes to TES games, it does kind've make sense for Bethesda to only show shots from the 360. If the PC version looks significantly better, it'll just give a false impression of the game to console gamers who make up a huge chunk of the sales. And if it doesn't look much better at all, then why bother? By showing the game at it's worst, PC gamers will be pleasantly suprised with how their game looks, and console gamers won't be disappointed.

All of the demos played so far for audiences have been on the Xbox 360, fyi. It's pretty same to assume that the E3 demo will also be played on an Xbox 360.
Although, that is still just an assumption, but give me evidence to prove me wrong.

I would agree that PC users are forgetting these are 360 graphics. Although, the comparison shots in the poll may be vanilla Oblivion, it has bloom, HDR, and maxed graphics. Mods wouldn't have made it that much better.

PC's graphics only differ in that the game can be run in higher resolution, has AA, PROBABLY cleaner textures and inability to run on hardware from 2005. It's a multiplatform game and Todd likes Xbox. Go figure.

Damn you for thinking logically!

Seriously tho, the whole graphics console/pc thing is getting old. Most know that PC games have declined in production values because of the next generation console department, but it is also making the gaming community a staple in our society. Would you people who argue about this rather have a small elite group who can afford the very best and others have nothing at all? I truly hope not.

Wasn't the Xbox 360 first shown off when that demo was done during E3. I don't think they would have had one to use for the demo, and I don't think the game was fully functional on the Xbox, so they decided to go with the PC. Of course, If I remember right they ended up overheating the computer causing the game to crash. They freaked until they figured it out and got some fans up in there.

If i remember correctly, In the press there was confusion as to what platform he was showing it on in 2006 because he was using a 360 controller but later confirmed it was being shown on PC with a controller?

Don't take my word for it but I seem to recall that.

Oblivion had galleries for both PC and 360 screenshots, and later even one for PS3. I'm sure they'll show graphics comparisons down the road.

That would be great. I'd be happy about just one 1080p screenshot with maxed out graphics to use as a wallpaper.
