Most people bought the Decimation DLC for the FS7. Most don't play the new maps servers and it's a shame. Why don't you just release the DLC maps and charge for the weapons? At least the new maps won't go to waste and it would provide some new maps to play on the regular servers.

No one is going to buy the 1st DLC now, people will buy the second DLC. If you had your head switched on, you should have offerred a bundle DLC price, eg $15 dollars for both DLC. Thus you can generate large value through bundle discounts. Its basic marketing, upselling people.

Mostly for Digital content, costs are mainly fixed rather than variable, therefore you can have different pricing groups targeting value. In the example above, If person A was not going to buy DLC 1 at $10, but as a bundle, it costs them $5 extra, you have generated $5 dollars worth of extra profit and phantom value for both DLC.

I would buy the DLC even if it wouldn't have the FY71 weapon.... But FY71 just brings the taste

What they should of done with the dlc is give taster maps for free and charge for the rest, that way people can test out the quality of the maps before deciding whether the rest are worth a purchase.

You still have the empty servers running the new maps and players (that buy the DLC) playing on the populated servers. The game stands still. No progression only digression. I sign of ignorance is repeating the same actions expecting a different result. The last DLC proved that more people bought it because of the OP gun. They didn't care about the maps. They aren't playing on the servers with the new maps. Piecing this game out isn't getting anywhere. Just buying the DLC is restrictive enough. Too many people can't even buy it. The game is dieing more and more every day and unless there's an infusion of players NOW it won't matter what they do. We'll just have a bunch of maps and 65 people playing the game. The only thing selling is the OP weapons, not the maps.

We already threw our money away on the DLCs. Are you playing on servers running the DLC maps? I don't think so. All we have that we can use is the OP weapon. If everyone had the maps we would all enjoy the game a whole lot more. If we're gonna take the attitude that just because we threw our money away on a weapon and maps we can't play on (with other players) the others should too, then so be it. You, like me are the minority here. We can't enjoy the maps we paid for. All we can enjoy is the OP weapon we can use on the stock map servers against players that don't have it. At the end of the day, all we have is a gun. That won't change no matter how we spin this.

Personaly I think it should be the other way around more than anything, I mean look at how meny players are crying about the FY71, just becuase they refuse to pay for DLC they have to complane about the players who do pay for it. Just becuase you like having more content to the game that makes you a noob aparnetly and not a good player, odd I know, but haters will be haters and even though they cry their eyes out over it and say how much they hate crytek and crysis 2 they always come crawling back... I mean just look around this forum or play the game online for a little and you'll see they can't leave crysis 2 alone. but anyway... I think if anything the new weapons should be free, personaly I think it was well spent money, but I hate being called a 'noob' or somone who can't play (and I assure you, I can play and I play well ) so i think everyone should be given the new weapons for free, just as a fair sport thing, and if anything, let the non-DLC players see for them selves that the FY71 is no way over powered\and it has it's drawbacks that evens out the balance. anouther reason for giving it away for free would be to drag players back to crysis 2 that lost intrest in the game, for example, I got into the top 700 worldwide, rank 50 on my 3rd reboot and i knew what layouts were the best for me and in pretty much every match I played I would be the MVP or in the top 3 players. so it all became old news for me, so I ended up drifting towards playing other games more, like BFBC2, portal 2 and APB reloaded, But now becuase of the the FY71 and the smoke grenades there is more to play with now, more play styles to master and other players new styles to deal with, and it gave a breath of fresh air to Crysis 2 for me. and I'm back on it 24/7. as for the maps I'll agree they should be free also, I mean it's only really CoD that charges for it's map packs and as much as I hate CoD and it's ever changing developers, but becuse they have such a huge audience of players they know they can get away with charging for map packs, becuase they know that alot of players will buy it, and it's sad to see crytek trying to go down that road. I mean sad to say it, but Crysis really doesn't come close to CoD when it comes to player count or dedicated fans, crytek can't really be successful with charing for map packs. and we all know how successful the map packs turned out to be, no one plays them, which is a major shame becuase they are wonderful maps, they truely are. but like i mentioned, there just isn't enough players playing Crysis 2 willing to pay for a DLC.

Now heres my idea on what they should be selling us, why not Nanosuit skins? weapon skins? differant Nanosuit shells? diferant colour schemes for nanovison, things that change the visual appearance to the player and their gun. but nothing that seems unfair to other players, give the maps and new weapons away for free for eveyone to enjoy, that way we wouldn't have to wait for ages to find 3 more players to play on 'Shipyard' or whatever, and we wouldn't get cry babys crying about new weapons. make it so it doens't change gameplay for anyone, keep it all fair gameplay wise, but alow things like skins to be up on the store for the players who do want the extrea content. I know for sure I would pay for some nanosuit skins, mabye even sell really bright skins for the pro players who want to show off how '1337' (LEET) they are, just like there was in Quake 4.

Or if anything, if they want to charge for a DLC they need to think about content that will really sell, I mean, a vehicle map pack would sell.

I think I have paid my dues many times over what you have paid. I have purchased the DLCs and pay for the servers that many of the players play on today. No noob here, lol. But I see that some people will keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Personally, I don't see charging anything will bring life back to this game. It's apparent that you just don't get it. No one is playing the new maps. Crytek is only after our money.

I really doubt most people bought it for the gun, $10 dolalrs for a gun, you must be stupid. I saw 5 maps plus a bonus gun and some greande and compared this to the 4pack DLC1 so decided this was a good buy. That's why most people bought it.

I've been on a few apart from yours, one of the main problems stopping the majority who actually want to pay for the dlc is the fact there's only one payment option. If crytek want dlc figures to go up they need to add something like paypal so people don't have to worry about credit cards or nothing like that.

Second (this should be first rather) is the bugs currently in the game and whether the maps are going to have any problems. Most of the bugs complained on here are blown out of proportion however orbital strike lag needs to be fixed, crytek should make that their top priority above anything else.

Giving people a few taster maps would be a nice way to make it up to the community before DX11 and mod tools get released and help gain trust that these maps are good quality but the current DLC ones shouldn't be made free considering people have already paid for them.

Question is why people pay for DLC and it's a accepted practice today? The game is still broken and still people buy DLC. It's a console game badly ported to PC and people still buy DLC. Forums everywhere of people still can't play or glitched etc and people still buy the DLC. Creating a us and them with weapons in DLC dividing whats left playing and people still buy the DLC. Servers not running new maps and people still buy the DLC.
