I've never seen it.
In F3 I named a character Kid. Everybody knew my name.

I play NV with my Fallout 3 characters, so:
Justine Hunter
Troy Hunter

He is the deepest character I've had in any Fallout game.

I find myself thinking every decision based on the "unknown redeemer with shady past saves town and rides into sunset" image I have for him. He is early in the game but I know one thing: He is going to turn down Mr. House. Serving computers isolated in their ivory towers for centuries has not served Augustus well.

My first character was named Cassio. Unexpectedly appropriate, it is a character from Othello who is used by Iago in order to bring the downfall of Othello/ rise of Iago. The courier is used under false pretences to bring the rise in power of Mr. House.

My second and current character is named Drifter. He is pretty much an exact replica of my Fallout 3 character 'Wolf'. He looks out for himself, he is neither good nor bad. When it comes to quests he is a mercenary, won't get off his mattress for under 50 caps.

There are some instances where you can introduce yourself using your name. People like to make characters and not just play as themselves too, so names can matter a lot when making a character.

Oh yeah, and the name's Rasputin.
