Yeah most of C2 is inside the city, but you get some in full daylight, then when you think the worst is behind you, you're dragged in another mess and off you go again. By the time you complete the campaign, you definitely feel like you've been playing for hours nonstop.
But with C3 you reach the end and it makes you go "I'm not even halfway through yet". Even Hunted: The Demon's Forget took me longer to complete than this. Fun factor, I definitely had far more fun in C2. The urban/jungle mixture setting is just bad and made me feel like I've been walking through mud for hours. It's not a fun feeling.
Don't even get me started on the god-awful vehicle steering design. The Orca is absolutely ghastly, with overly sensitive steering controls that make you rush straight for shallow water to drown the engine and force yourself to get the F out of it. Makes it look like a desperate fan-service attempt by Crytek to add something cool, because many people dig drag racing.
But they failed miserably at the implementation. Hey at least it wasn't a Mako. The armored destroyer is nothing like the badass C2 version, doesn't even have rockets. Clunky steering at its best. And the VTOL gunner seat.....oh boy, not even going there.
I'm definitely glad I didn't pay full price for this glorified expansion pack, and I feel sorry for the people who did, especially Aussies that always suffer through overly inflated Origin/Steam prices.
