Glad to see another AAA rpg maker join Bethesda

The Witcher 2 has the feeling of a worthy competitor in the market. Bioware is a shadow of its former self, since being assimilated, so along comes CDPRed to take up the mantle of another AAA crpg maker. This is all to the good for Bethesda.

Another piece that can be taken from CDPRed is that a pc-first will sell quite well thank you very much. Bethesda can develop for the much more powerful pc and then water-down for consoles, rather than the other way around. It's obvious that TW2 looks much better than what we've seen from Skyrim so far. However, the game world is so much tinier in comparison and you can only be Geralt in TW2. The number of art assets in Skyrim will probably be exponentially higher than in TW2. That's part of the reason TW2 can look so good. Another piece is that they're not limited to what an Xbox or PS3 can physically hold. You can bet a port of TW2 won't be nearly as pretty.

All in all, this is to the good for our beloved crpgs. Skyrim is gonna rock and now we'll have another series to look forward to when we finally want a change of scenery from Tamriel.

Wonderful
