I plan on roleplaying as a Redguard warrior who fought in the arena in Cyrodiil. This is the first warrior build i have done in a while.

What skills would a gladiator use? I was thinking Light armor, two handed, and archery.

I was thinking Sword and Shield. It's your choice.

If you're thinking about Roman gladiators: which one? Murmillo, Retiarius, Dimachaerus?

-sword and dagger (murmillo)

Basically you can have any melee weapon but I don't think a gladiator would use ranged attacks and definitely no magic (unless you somehow justify it in your backsotry).

Hm this was interesting. I like the idea of Dimachaerus.
