Todd called it an Elven Glass sword in one of the demos.I am pretty sure Eurogamer and a Gamespot article also mentioned finding "a shining elven glass sword".I didnt know about the confirmation.Not sure what to think about it now.
I know he called it like that, but I'm pretty sure he was just saying that it was of Elven origin. In the trailer, you can see that it's simply called "Glass Sword".
I really never understood how glass, friggin GLASS could be used as weapons & armor & don't shatter into a million pieces in a single hit in TES games. Makes no sense TBH. The strongest light armor in-game should have been Mithril IMHO.

Haven't you thought that maybe, just MAYBE, what is called glass in Tamriel isn't the same as what we call glass...?
That green, shiny glass, is a super precious and rare material, very resistant while quite light.
