Anyway, one thing I've often noted is that the progression from Morrowind to Oblivion incurred a lot of stylistic changes, especially in weapons and armor. Whereas Morrowind's equipment relies heavily on texture details to the point of being totally garish, much of Oblivion's items were designed with a slightly more earthly, medieval approach. The three most iconic armor sets, and also the ones that have seen the most radical changes, are the dwarven, glass, and Daedric sets. I've seen lots of arguments in favor of each iteration, as well as mods for both games attempting to reproduce one or the other style.
For the record, I'm not necessarily implying that Skyrim's armor must be a carbon-copy of Morrowind or Oblivion's. Just, as far as the style goes, I was curious as to which ones people prefer. I'd rather people who have only played one of the two games not vote, or at least take a look at the images on the UESP to get an idea of what all the armor designs are like:

Personally, I greatly preferred Morrowind's approach to the glass and Daedric sets - they had a far more imposing look, and yet, there was far more attention to detail. The glass armor in Oblivion looks like it's hammered out of green apple Jolly Ranchers to me, and the Daedric set is just a bizarre, swirling mess of reds and browns. As far as Dwarven armor is concerned, I greatly preferred Oblivion's as I'm sure this is what the Dwemer actually wore. Although I'd prefer a helmet that made you look less like a steam engine. :ninja:
