After completing the quest The thing is, I never got anything. I know it's optional, but using Dagrep I found out my Mage's Guild Rep is in the 70s while my rep with Aubk-i is 20-30ish. I'm pretty sure these people send them and I don't understand why I wouldn't get any. I know it's completely optional and doesn't really change anything but it's just bothersome.... I moved on to the quest but I'd still like to figure out what happened.

http://www.izhtex.com/tes2/ said that you can get up to seven letters, that they are all the same, that they , but he didn't say who would be sending them, so I don't know if either of those folks would send it. I'm also thinking maybe 20-30 isn't enough "like" for Aubk-i to send a letter.

If you have a save from before you did the quest, you could use http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Games/Gaming_Utilities/DFHack.html to fiddle with the rep numbers to see if you could figure it all out. The version I linked to seems to want to be shareware, but I got a freeware version back in '97 that might still be floating out there.
