Glitch: Keep the Full Maintanence Perk Permanently Without R

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 6:00 pm

Before the latest patch Raul's Full Maintenance Perk was bugged and didnt work at all. Now the perk's usefulness cannot be overstated. Easily one of the best in the game. You can now keep this perk for yourself permanently without having Raul as a companion.

All you have to do is have Raul as a companion when you start the Dead Money add on at the Abandoned BoS Bunker and it will say "you've lost Raul's Regular Maintanence Perk" and that "Raul has returned to his shack" but if you completed the "Old School Goul" unmarked quest and unlocked Raul's Full Maintanence perk it will remain on your list of perks and your weapons and armor will continue to decay 75% slower. This also means you can choose a different humanoid companion and get their perk along with Full Maintanence and either Rex or ED-E's perks. A total of 3 companion perks.

I usually dont like to use glitches but after all the [censored] I had to deal with because of this perk before the patch I feel it's one way Obsidian can make up for it. We deserve a few glitches like this.

I would have gotten this myself, if only Raul's quest wasn't still bugged. Damn you Ranger Andy.

You got the patch but it's still bugged? What exactly is the problem you're having with Andy?

Yep, the patch fixed the bug on my previous file, but not on this one.

Raul just never talks to me after I speak with Andy. I've already been to see Loyal and Sterling, which both worked fine.

That would be a game breaker for me. Cant really use Max Charge Microfusion Cells or .45-70 Gov SWC Hand Load ammo without that perk.

The newly discovered exploit that allows recruitment of all followers effectively makes this a cute novelty.

This is pretty awesome. Thanks!

Now if only I could get *any* of my save files working after this latest patch (which broke them all to the last on my 360).

Have all humanoid followers in your party at once: Recruit Veronica Santangelo at the 188 Trading Post and visit the sites that trigger her quest I Could Make You Care. When the third trigger trips and Veronica opens dialogue with you, tell her that you do not have time right now, then fire her and send her back to 188. Hire any other companion, go back to Veronica, ask her what she wanted to talk about earlier, and when she requests that you take her to Hidden Valley, tell her to go by herself, and decline again when she persists. This will open another companion slot. You can hire another companion, go back to Veronica and redo the preceding steps, and open another one, repeating until all humanoid companions are hired, ending with Veronica.
