Not really here to complain about a personal bug I've seen, but my own curiosity has lead me to do some deeper delving into trying to figure out who has what problems and why. A lot of people have "DLC" that seem to break the game, yet I have the Gamestop Pre-Order DLC (The Classic Pack) and haven't seen any of these same glitches/bug/game-freaking-out. I'm curious if it's specific DLC packs that give poor Fallout an aneurysm.
Also, somewhere in this forum, someone brought up the idea that it might be the 360's chipset. Now, obviously, people with newer chipsets aren't experiencing /no/ glitches, but I'm curious if it has any impact at all on what types of glitches one experiences. Like I said, I'm pretty clueless as to what's going on, I just want to know why certain things are happening to certain people. Some people can't even manage to get the game to load, whereas others experience little to no problems whatsoever.
If anything, finding the absolute cause of a bug is helpful for the programmer's (should any of them be masochistic enough to tread into a public forum) to be able to identify a way to fix these problems.
I just want to help people be able to experience this amazing game in it's best form, and if there's any quick solution for some of these problems, it'd be nice to be able to tell someone what they can do to see instant results.
So, if I can ask nicely, would anyone experiencing bugs/glitches kindly include their chipset and the specific DLC they may have?

I have the very most recent chipset that isnt even in the graph you linked to. The Halo Reach 360 S model "Vejle" chipset, which is after the Jasper. And I have the same dlc that you have. Gamestop classic pack, and I got the DLC error with 90 hours into my game, and lost 65 hours of gameplay. So it definately happens on the new chipsets too.

wow, that's gnarly... What /is/ the "DLC error" that people seem to have? I haven't experienced anything like it unless it's the "Modding a DLC gun" thing, which really isn't that big of a deal. I'm just not sure where the issue is with game hours disappearing and saves randomly deleting.

I wasn't thinking newer chipsets have no/less glitches, I was just curious if the chipset had any effect on which glitches appear, how frequently they appear, and how intense they are.

Hey people, i've just signed up to this forum because i am in need of some serious help and its to do with this topic.

im 43hours into fallout:new vegas, level 27 , not even got into the strip yet as i am exploring and guess what?..........when i went to load my game up it says 'this save has DLC which is not available' blah blah, i have no DLC??? The it asks to load anyway so i do and it then says 'device not available'????? i've loaded up previous saves and i cant progress without the save corrupting itself i am heart broken as i love F3 and i've really got into new vegas but it is unplayable because of this problem.

I payed ￡69.99 for the collectors edition and cant even play it! Im so angry because of this and the glitches and bugs i've encountered. I have the new slim xbox and all my other games are fine so its not my console its definetly this buggy game.

Can someone help me please as i really want to get back to my game. I would appreciate it

I don't even HAVE any DLC (bought the regular version) and I continually get this error. I've lost countless hours of progress. The latest incarnation of this has gone back so far that I might as well start the game over, or switch to PC since they seem to get priority for patches. I'm a little angry to the fact that this game is so buggy and has only gotten one patch. A few bugs here and there is understandable, they happen. When I run into so many that I constantly have to re-load to avoid crashing the game by doing something (like completing certain quests or exploring certain areas, or picking up certain items), it becomes a problem.

I have the new xbox 360 and I am having the DLC error.

I haven't had any experience with this, but I would put the DLC and any save files related to it on a thumb drive if you can, and then start the game without any DLC installed, if this doesn't work, clear your systems cache (removing /any/ patches) and try from there, this should force the game to load up at factory default. There's a few more bugs, but I managed to complete the game my first playthrough before any patches came out and I didn't run into any serious bugs or glitches. Please let me know if that works or if it doesn't so I know whether or not to continue recommending it to people.

You appear to have the DLC bug.
You cannot retrieve your game and is unfixable by deleting cashes etc,i believe.
Please join the back of the extremely long queue of disgruntled, angry and downright pissed off victims who have been right royally screwed by this unscrupulous shower of complete and utter clowns.

Its outrageous that obsidion even gave the go ahead to release new vegas in this state. I understand its a huge game and takes ALOT of work and i appreciate that, i love the game but this is a major problem as i've realised there is thousands of victims of this DLC error sh*t. I dont have any DLC, the game was fine apart from crashing like FALLOUT 3 , then after 43 hours its like 'erm yeah DLC error' even though there isnt any DLC?? lol.

The funny thing is the 43 hours of gameplay was pure looting and exploring with odd quests here and there, i havent even done the main quest 'Ring a ding ding!' . Theres no way i am doing another 43 hours of exploring [censored] that! On the other hand i have got into ASSASSINS CREED:BROTHERHOOD and 15 hours in i havent found 1 thing wrong with the game, its fine and theres so much to do. Now thats a good freakin game , huge with no glitches , OBSIDIAN take note , thats a prime example of a finished product.

Now can anyone tell me or give me a link about when the 'PATCH' is coming out? I read on FALLOUTS facebook page that the team has wrapped up making the patch now i just need a date. Dying to dive back into the wasteland , havent even got to the strip yet!!!

Its a dam shame this awesome game is riddled with problems.
Wish i didnt buy the collectors edition, obviously the head honchos are more interested in lining there pockets than pleasing the player
43 hours i cant get back lol, 100% not doing it again. I have a save file that loads in VAULT 3 but when i progress and save , the new save wont load so hopefully the patch sorts that out so i can load and make progress without worrying about new saves corrupting.

Least its not as bad as losing 120 hours i lost on fallout 3, lol, i had done the whole game plus 4 DLC's , was gonna play Mothership zeta but obviously didnt get it as i didnt have a save to load :s.

Lets all hope we get a patch that works and we get a free DLC as compensation WE WISH!!!

Not to instill any type of negativity here, but I believe the TC requested what glitches we are experiencing, and what chipset our Xbox 360 consoles have. Not our commentary on the state of the game itself, or complaints about the dev and publisher doing ____ or ____.

Personally, I think having a comprehensive list of chipsets and specific glitches that occur on them more than others would be an interesting undertaking. However, If the constant badgering of the glitch issue continues, there is a high probability that this topic may be locked down by a member of the moderation staff. Please try to stay on topic.

Falcon (Repaired by MS facility with new Jasper style heatsinks and fans)

My HDD:
120GB (62GB remaining)

Glitches experienced:
Random freezing at load screens.
Graphical Lag
Draw distance issues.
Texture Mapping issues (Falling Through rocks, floors, etc)
ED-E going hostile at random, killing everyone.
Auto Save corruption at loading screens (Black screen)
Weapon Mod identifier (+) disappearing if selling a weapon of the same type in merchant screen.
Menu Lag.
Missing Laser pistol in Scorpion gulch (Never spawns)

That is all I have seen so far, and I am still happily playing the game with three different characters.
