Glitchiest game release you've ever played?

Post » Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:18 pm

Since i began playing PC games in 1997 with Ultima Online, i don't believe i have seen such a glitchy release.

I had heard SO much good about Crysis 1, and at the time did NOT have a computer anywhere near capable of playing it. So of course when i heard Crysis 2 was out, and realized my new PC was up to the challenge, i jumped on board instantly! To my dismay, the games functionality in both single and multi player is lacking in many important areas.

I know there are a TON of post's from disappointed customers, so i figured i'd attempt a Flagship poll to attempt to catch the eye of one of the Cry-admin's.

If you feel like this has to be one of the most, if not the most, glitchy game release you have ever been a part of or partaken in, please post your answer.

Thankfully, i can play SP without many if any issues, but Multiplayer (which is why i purchased the game) is worthless right now. Unlocks are still a problem, amongst a list of many, but is what aggravates me most.

Oh heck yes. ^_^ Still cant play that game cause PB registers my duel graphics card laptop as a hack.

Buggiest game?
Joint Operation Typhoon rising.
You could RUN THREW WALLS IN MULTIPLAYER if you hit it at the right angle.
Same with vihicles, oh and if you ran while leaning left and right your couldnt be hit by bullets...

Haven't played Bc2 yet, i saw it online and it looked phenomenal. I chose C2 due to the different capabilities in this FPS vs other mainstream FPS. Stealth, Armor, Power anything.

That sounds pretty crazy, but i assumed C2 (since part 1 was KILLER) would've released in better shape than this.

Has Crysis 2 been the most Glitchy release you have ever played?
Yeah pretty much, at least in recent memory. I can almost bet i found at least 100 bugs in the game (most of them are AI, broken scripts, wrong reflections).
actually i've seen worse: bc2 :)
Well BC2 was mess, but i must say they fixed it quickly (in days) and the bugs weren't realy game breaking.
Or Call of Duty BlackOps, you could't almost play the game before they patched network problems and huge lags. But yet again they fixed it pretty quick ... too bad BlackOps svck big time anyway.

hmm i think the last call of duty:black ops way worse than this game. About 80% of the PC players had performence problems with black ops when it was released. It took them ages till those problems were solved.

As far as shooters that I have played at release, it's been a bit rough. BFBC2 had some minor issues, but not as many.

alot of multiplayer shooters are like this because you can of only so much playtesting before release.

look at bc2
or TF2

that's why I am not on the wall over this p. horrible release as other people are.

I've voted no , because no game that will ever be sold in retail will ever be glitchier then BIG RIGS ( I actually got that game :P ) .

But I will say that for a major title , yes it is the glitchiest , buggiest , hack festest game I have ever seen .

Honestly, if this is the glitches game a personhas ever played, you haven't played many games.

Battlefield Vietnam was suprisingly bad considering they already had a solid Battlefield 1942 running. Star Trek Voyager was odd from what I remember. Joint Ops was pretty rough at first, Stalker. I dunno, Over the last 15 years there has been alot of terrible games, some I don't make past the first hour or two of playing.

I've played Crysys 2 from start to finish, got bit a little by the Nano bug, but that's hardly a show stopper. Haven't done much with the on-line, so I can't comment to much on that.

For me personally, not the worst game ever. I think World of Warcraft at the launch of Wrath of the Lich King was an amazingly horrible launch for a game that was in place for 4 years.

Yes, i have not played that many Non-MMO releases. For MMO's, i've been there for quite a few, and i consider them a whole different beast. I unfortunately was not available for WotLK release, but Cata's release was pretty solid.

I guess i had just hoped for more from a name like Crytek. I mean heck, Benchmarkers would utilize there game for pushing hardware to the max! Don't you expect someone with that reputation to come to the table with something more than "Oh, well, here's the game with a ton of GAME BREAKING problems, but its yours now" lol

Thats where i'm aggravated, the GAME BREAKING issues. I wouldn't mind some bugs here or there, its expected. But glitches that make the game either unplayable or leave you not wanting to continue till its fixed. And yes its mainly MP that aggravates me. The NC bug has righted itself for me, but the unlocks are driving me nuts in MP.

you guys have to go back further than that.

games like vietcong 2 or breed. completely broken when released and never ever fixed.

Those 2 games we're about as bad as you could get because the company's that produced those games went under right after the games were released leaving the ppl who purchased these games with broken games that could never be fixed

star wars: battlefront 1 and 2

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. I couldn't tell if the game was that bad or I just didn't like it that much. I know I disliked it enough not even consider the 2nd one.

Pretty sure I played Vietcong 1, and I remember it was a pretty horrible game. I seem to remember playing the demo at the CPL tourny in Dallas and thinking it had some potential, bought the game and was like "wow this is horrible" Though kinda like Battlefront, I can't fully remember if it was so much a buggy game or just dreadful game in general.

glitchiest game in memory for me was probably STALKER: SoC
but they allowed modders... they did not LOCK THE **** PAK FILES
it's ridiculous, they try and fix this game and break it further, it's like someone fixing a vase without any thumbs
By a long shot Shadow Of Chernobyl, it was completely unplayable, was not optimised in the slightest and crashed if you were sitting at the wrong angle in your seat.

vietcong 1 was not playable til the 3rd patch. It was a fairly descent game after that and it had a cult following until vietcong 2 came out. which was so buggy that it was completely unplayable. Few weeks after release the dev went belly up and that was all she wrote for vietcong

ARMA 2 definately (i'd actually put that as #1), but since all the patches, much much much much much much much much better, classic example of the developing house caring enough to support the game post release, which these days is relatively rare, or in some cases non-existant.
