Glowing weapons

The guy playing buffs his weapon, after he does it starts pulsating and glowing which I really hate and hope has been toned down or deleted in the final game. With all the HUD there must be another way than making your awesome customized weapon glow like an enchanted sword from some RPG right?

Is this just an old build or what?

EDIT: when playing with friends, buffs are going to be constantly thrown around. It's going to get really really annoying really fast if its still in.

No, this is how it currently works.

Blame CoD's golden guns for it, because that's where they got it from.

ugh gross. All that customization and cool looking everything goes to waste when I see a single glowing texture of the outline of what the weapon should look like. My love for the games art style just completely went out the window with this stupid glowing gun thing. Weird how almost none of the video's show this in action at all, its almost like they were hiding it... but why hide it when they can just rework/take it out if they didn't like it?

Would much rather a big "Your weapon has been buffed" sign blocking your screen? Cause that's the only alternative I can think of

It looks fine. It is a pulsating glow that STILL shows your custom work on the weapon. I take it this "BUFF" is a temporary upgrade that wears off over time?

Honestly, it's not "game-breaking" to me. But thats just me.

I think buffs last until you get incapacitated or die. I could be wrong though.

But back on topic I actually like the pulsating glow. It looks cool to me. But after a while you'll probably get used to it OP.

I think a little emblem near your ammo part would be better, like a little + or fist or something.

Really, it's not that terrible or distracting. You can still mostly see your weapons customization; although I would have preferred that effect not to be in the game as well, I don`t mind it at all. The whole point of customizing a weapon is how it performs, not how it looks, right?

If the enemy can see the glow, then that is why it can't simply be part of your HUD. It gives an advantage to the astute player who notices which enemies have higher power. Granted they probably could make it glow for them and not you, but still its more noticeable.

Well I never put that fact into thought, that's a good point. I'm sure they'll patch it down the line if it becomes a substantial issue.

this is a damage buff. its glows to let you know that you have the buff currently on you. now i don't know how long it lasts, it does go away once you die.

think of how stupid it would be to have to buff someone every 60 seconds, you would lose focus of your objective. this way you only have to worry about buffing someone who has respawned.

As seen in a leaked vid if your weopan gets buffed, and you go down, tehn get revived it is still buffed. if you die then it resests to normal. Im not sure how long the buff actually lasts though... i could understand 1 minuts to 30 seconds. My thoughts: i guess im ok with it as long as its not bright and it flashes very fast. But i would rahter have it just glow and not pulseate

That's very true, but there could be a less distracting way to the buffee to indicate to the buffer that they are already buffed. An indicator above the buffee's head would work well.

they should have just made the image of you gun in the HUD glow not the actual gun

I like this idea and it would be similar to how you can tell that a medic buffs your health, by a symbol in your life bar, so a symbol by your ammo should be good enough.

It goes on until you die. If you get revived via medic, you will still have all your buffs.

neg. thats a horrible idea imo. you'd be surprised @ how many people don't even pay attention to their HUD in the first place, and i doubt people will pay attention to a little gun icon glowing either.

this makes it easier to see, and its totally obvious. People will be able to realize "Hey...I'm buffed." without having their eyes have to wonder on a another section of the screen.

I see nothing wrong with the glow when the guns gets a buff, It's a visual marker to let your enemy know your gun is now buffed if they see it, IMO. There are countless games out there right now with some type of visual marker for upgraded weaponry mode.

This is when Developers have a "good idea" they should just stop, take a breath and let oxygen return to their brain cells.

@Grabbed...We don't need a sign over our screen...but how about a + sign next to our gun on the bottom right hud...simple, sweet and easy to understand without getting overly kiddy. I can understand a quick glimer over your gun resulting in the addition of the + sign down below but WTF is with the glowing gun?

I'm begining the phase where I ask, why am I buying this game again? Its not that I don't like it, theres just a lot of straw on the that camels back so to speak. I just hope it still fun...or i guess, my idea of fun as it seems to be very diverse in this crowd.

i find it hilarious that people complain about the silliest things, and then they question if they should still get the game.

thank god none of yall are game developers.
