First I'll mention that I have done searches on this on both FO3nexus and Google. None seem to have a clear solution.

I moved from a Windows XP to a Windows 7 (64 bit) computer (Diamond Xtreme 5.1 sound card). GNR enhanced was working great on XP, but on Windows 7 it has a stutter. Only GNR has that stutter, Enclave radio does not.

I've looked at the discussion on the GNR Enhanced page and Google'd the problem, only to find a bunch of confusing and conflicting advise. I did download this:

fix, but it does not seem to work on Windows 7 64 bit (register bat file doesn't work). I did increase things like the audio cache in the ini file too.

There are a lot of posts recommending other CODEC changes, and then follow on posts talking about how those "fixes" break things.

So I'm not posting here lightly, I did do some research. If there is a clear fix I should try I would very much appreciate any info on it. I would really like to play Fallout 3 again, with GNR enhanced.

Well here's a low-tec work around if you didnt think about it allready. So you can enjoy it till the High-tech's fix it.



Load up your game on the XP ,find a quiet place and turn on the radio. Then play on the Win7 without the radio. Send save files to the XP as needed for changeing content.

I have tried to install CODEC in the link above. However it is not installing correctly.

Specifically I'm trying to install MADFilter.ax to fix the problem. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I put MADFilter.ax in the \Windows\System32 directory and have run the register bat file as administrator. It fails with a message about not being able to find the target.

I have also opened a console window (as administrator) and manually typed in the command:

regsvr32 \Windows\System32\MADFilter.ax and it says the same thing (a pop up about not being able to find the target).

I checked several times to make sure MADFilter.ax was in the specified location and there are no typos.

Any thoughts on what the problem is and how I could proceed would be very much appreciated.

Still haven't figured it out. I'm going to request a lock of this thread and ask a general CODEC question in the General forum.
