My question is whether or not there will be goblins in the game, and, if so, to what degree will their culture be apparent. They're one of my races in every fantasy game I play, so I look forward to seeing them again.
It is very likely in my opinion that Goblins will be in Skyrim. There is a tribe of peaceful Goblins in the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shadowkey:Fearfrost_Caverns, which are very near from Skyrim Border.
Also, Goblins are intelligent creatures. From what we know about them, there are Goblin clans, and Goblins have a tribal, probably totemist or animist culture. It is not known whether some Gods are universally worshipped by all the tribes.
What we know is that they are smart enough to craft things, to grow mushrooms, to cook and possibly brew, to breed rats and train durzogs, to build a military hierarchy, to fashion magical staves and enchant them, to lockpick, and possibly to erect an obelisk and engrave it with magical runes. Also, we know that t least some tribes worship totems, yet their exact nature and purpose remain unknown.
I think I have read that Goblins are considered as full citizens by rights in Orsinium, but failed to find any source. Could someone confirm this or is it a product of my frenzied imagination?
Yet we know very little about them or their language.
I really hope we'll learn more about them this time, as well as about Rieklins. And I hope there will be some Goblinish armors and weapons set...
Personnally, I never considered them as there-to-be-killed-and-then-looted hinders in dungeons, but as a non-playable race. But this also hold in general for many creatures I encountered in Tamriel. Dreughs, Grahls, Spriggans, Minotaurs, Xivilais, even Udyrftyktes and Will-o-the-Whisps...
