For the love of all that is holy please dont keep an open ending out of fall out new vegas. I enjoyed it emensly in fallout 3 it gave me a chance to see the world after or at least the beginning of the world after and have my character live in it. Please do not wait months before releasing the next set of DLC cuase i dont think i can contain my excitment more then a month. Please give me a release date for the next five dlc's. The best part about christmas is knowing when it is. I like anticipation only when it doesnt ask me to hold my breath longer then i can. in the next fallout game scrap dt bring back dr get rid of the ammo types and keep the weapon mods. the players had the right idea you guys kinda misunderstood. no offense i just think we did it better. em when i got more to say ill type it so have a good day and thanks for all the splendid hours of vicarious fun.
First off, Gstaff is the community manager. I very highly doubt he has much input on the development process.
Secondly, I cannot possibly fathom how DT is an inferior system to DR. DT allows for more varied gameplay, as it allows for a difference between high DPS weapons (ex: 10mm SMG) and high DAM weapons (ex: hunting rifle), while in Fallout 3, the only difference was crit rate, since DR takes a flat percentage off of all incoming damage, as opposed to the threshold system. What kind of person wants their weapons to be more alike?
Thirdly, ammo types hugely expand tactical options and greatly enrich gameplay. Ammo types make the enemy you're fighting matter, especially when combined with DT. Fighting power-armored paladins? Break out the AP rounds. Fighting unarmored cazcadors? Load up those hollow points and go to town. This adds more variety, and helps keep NV's combat dynamic and interesting, as opposed to "ho hum, I'll just pull out my gun and start shooting at those muties. Blah blah blah."
Fourthly, players have been trying to get new ammo types in FO3 for awhile now, and all attempts boil down to clumsy workarounds with scripts. So I suppose in a way, the players did have the right idea.
