I'm a God...

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:08 am

I realized today at level 45 that I'm a god. Nothing in the game even has a chance of killing me at this point if I try.

I'm 100 smithing, 100 enchanting

Fully enchanted, legendary dragon scale

Enchanted Dedric 2H sword with absorb health

Also, I have the ebony blade fully upgraded which is essentially absorb health 20 points with unlimited charges.

I found a way to make the game enjoyable again... store all your good [censored] in your house and start out in the world with just some basic gear and start doing all the quests you missed. I realized at my level, I still svck at lock picking and speech. Maybe I'll spend some time in Riften?

It's you to blame that you made the game uninteresting :/ It's exactly the reason why i avoid "god" builds.

The way I play, if I die then I have to restart with a new character. Makes the gameplay up to this point 10000% better. I just found a good way to make it enjoyable again to others who might be in the same situation.

Ebony blade is a daedric sword that gets better as you betray your companions and quest givers. For each one you kill the sword will absorb more health. Eventually, when it's full power you can take on a group of giants and dragons together.

I don't think you quite understand... I've put 86 hours into the game and am only level 45. I've taken my time playing. Also, if I die I have to restart (my own rules) so it makes difficult situations all the better. Almost getting killed by a frost spider after 30 hours of play is crazy fun. Anyway, the point is that there is still hope for those of us who have become powerful beyond reason.

You never mentioned the difficulty level, try it on Master, I upped mine to Expert on my newish charachter and it made things much more challenging. Also you sound like a power-gamer, relax, go and explore the sights, stop fast-travelling OR even consider making a new build! I want you to post vids of you beating a bunch of dragons and Mammoths on Master difficulty.

If you tell me how to spawn dragons and giants and such I'll post a vid. Not that difficult if you have the right gear. That's not really the point though.. As I said earlier, just toss your gear in a box and go out naked to find a good game again once you get to this level.

It's just the classic case of Bethesda's complete disregard for game balance with The Elder Scrolls. Being a demigod is apparently a feature and if you try and convince people otherwise, you're a powergaming nerd who is trying to finish the game as fast as possible.

All three characters that I've tried (the three main combat styles) have became immensely overpowered if I take enchanting or smithing. If you take neither of those, you fall behind very quickly. What is the point of having three entire skill trees dedicated to crafting if they're going to make the game absolutely unbalanced?

The self-limitations you'd have to set right now as the game is currently would be insane. You're cutting off huge portions of the game just to get a challenge. Also, to those saying up the difficulty: that's not going to change anything but drag out already pretty boring fights. I can't imagine fighting a dragon for damn near five minutes if their mechanics don't change.

Just wait for mods, I guess. A recurring theme with this series. :(

Ahh the great dilema, to craft or not to craft. That's all it boils down too.

Unless you're spamming Impact spells, "just dragging out fights" won't be the case. Enemy damage will go up considerably, and with physical damage reduction capped at 85% there will be plenty of enemies out there more than willing(and able) to rough you up a bit.

Elder Scrolls games always let you become really really overpowered if you want to. You can also choose not to. Its all up to you.
