Going Commando...

something that helps a ton...try to get an explosive automatic weapon...makes up for the decrease in DMG per bullet...and you dont have to be as accurate...I still use the Spray n Pray quite a bit...

Has no one else tried the Silenced automatic + Sandman perk? It's tearing up everything in my game. Combined with Commando, I can't even imagine how lethal that would be.

My first run was a full commando, full gun nut, full science guy. The righteous authority was viable all the way through. I also went full on heavy weapons and full steady aim. Running through with a hip-fire assault rifle is super fun.

Also, running around in maxed PA with a mini gun and a bunch of ammo made me feel like the terminator. A lot more satisfying than sniping from a mile away. Watching raider run away is fun.

Full stealth build with silenced weapons blow through mobs. Full ninja + Sandman = instant death. My sniper build does 5.1X damage to everything that doesn't notice me.

That plus full Ninja and Better Criticals. It's great with either pistols or rifles or assault weapons. It's kinda that 'IWIN' build people mention sometimes...

My only malfunction with the explosive bullets thing is, at close range, you can kill yourself just as easily as your target. :D

that is a very good way of putting it. In FO3 the only automatics I used were the 2 unique ones. Not going to try to aspell the Chinese one, and Sydney's smg. My weapons of choice were always the hunting riffle for long range shots, combat shotgun for up close, and unique plasma riffle for tough opponents.

Not convinced. Everything is dying already just fine. I had a snuffer on an auto 10mm I made and to be honest I hated not hearing my bullets. It was just weird seeing things drop at the sound of pew pew pew instead of bang bang bang. I had to take it off.

Oh man, I didn't even think about Better Crits. You get a chance to roll a crit on every bullet, right? That could be sick.

I know, I hate the sound of my .50 caliber hunting rifle. *Plink* Sounds like a pellet gun.

Agree, but I also like the sound of the surviving enemies going "Huh? Whu? Did you hear something, Bert??" "Nah, musta been the wind."

Admittedly, there has been times when a full auto weapon would of made me feel a heck of a lot safer. Like when a pack of ferals are charging towards your position. Like CCNA said though I'd just end up wasting ammo, plus if you haven't invested in the right perks(which I haven't)you'd probably do more damage if you threw it at them.

It does look fun though. MOAR DAKKA! DAKKADAKKADAKKA!
