Going to be a dad

Post » Wed Jan 22, 2014 4:49 pm

So I just found out about an hour ago that my wife is pregnant. We've only been trying for 3 weeks! I'm fairly excited but mostly terrified right now (that I won't be up to the task). Anyway, I just thought I'd share. I guess I have to grow up a bit now and learn to not be such an arrogant, condescending idiot! Ahhhhhh scared.

Wow, very big congratulations to you and your wife! :) Be as confident as you can with yourself. Don't think you are not up to the task.

I've never clicked to what people find so beautiful about child birth and newborns. The process is messy and uncomfortable for mother and father, and new born babies look like Mole Rats from Fallout until they're a few month old.

Congratulations!!

As I have said before, you know all those bad habits that you have? The ones you don't want your child to pick up? Yea, you got to stop them now. :D

Be prepared for the toughest job you will ever love. Lots of people will give you advice, just remember, your child is different and what works on one will not work on the other. Some you have to have be firm with, some you have to be sweet with. Remember, your job is not be their friend, but to get them raised up, and out of the house, and they can make it on their own and that means being a parent.

And, yes, you will say, many more times than you ever want to "Because I said so!"

It only took me one time, it seems.

*cymbal crash

Joking aside, your life of gaming will end soon. It was nice knowing you. You'll return in a few years, haggard, and begging us for some recommendations since you'll have been out of gaming for a while.

All to change smelly diapers. :D

Send the rules with your wife. It's you're child once the sun is up, and hers at night.

Just think if you'd done this a few years ago you could have named him/her "Dovakhin" and had free Elder Scrolls games for life! :D

Congratulations and you'll manage.
