Going Dark

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 8:11 pm

Seeing as how much information is making it's way onto the Internet and forums, is anyone planning on leaving the forums until skyrim is released? I've avoided some things such as the manual ( I like seeing the manual for myself after opening the game) but I haven't planned on leaving just yet. Thoughts ?

I'm waiting for my own manual. I will avoid this place for a LONG time after the game comes out... actually, it comes out a day early in Australia, so I'll have to avoid it early. Freaking spoilers.

I like reading official info and speculations, but i don't like the leaked stuff that everyone seems to be posting, once the game comes out i will be gone cause someone will post cheats, new things to tweak the system etc.

The only thing I don't mind is screenshots, but leaked manuals and maps or anything descriptive I don't want to see or read. So, nearing the release I will be more careful of what I read and open up.

I typically avoid anything labeled "Spoiler", this way I won't ruin stuff for myself.

But if another thing gets leaked after the manual... I'm shutting my interwebs off until 11/11/11.

I'm going dark 23rd-27th Oct when Skyrim goes gold so I avoid the spoilers. I have a feeling that from 27th Oct to 11th Nov most of the game will be already spoiled soo..

When the game goes gold or round about then I shall ignore the forums for a month or two :)

I'm going to try and avoid new info, but I'll still read/partake in discussions.

I've done the same with mass effect and that was a month ago and it's not even releasing soon. For some reason I felt like they were sending out to much info of the main game during previews.

I've just been avoiding any thread that seems like it has new info in it. Have been for a long while now.

Actually it comes out the same day in Australia. They just happen to have that day before people over here in NA. "It comes out 11.11.11 worldwide."

It's harder to find a thread to read and post in and the Gamer mags are all covering the spoilers I won't look at so I can't read them now either. I haven't looked at the achievements or the manual or the list of perks. I'll have all of that to discover on release day. I might have to leave here soon too. There's always the Oblivion or FNV forums and I can explore the modding tutorials.

I haven't read any spoilers and I've gotten pretty tired of the numerous articles.

I really don't understand why do people avoid manual scans so much, but whatever.

I'll go dark for some time when game comes out.
Until then, I'll remain active on forums, but will avoid all spoilers.

Because Australia is like 19 hours ahead of PST. It's GMT +11.

Bethesda themselves have been pretty much tight lipped.. to others annoyance, but yes.. once we're in November then that's when I'll not be visiting any game forums specific to Skyrim, as obviously people will be playing pirated copies of the game and probably spoiling the hell out of it.

Not at all, though in the past I have been majorly spoiled about plot details due to this. It's fun talking about games before they are out though for me.

This week journos went hands on with a pretty much final build for 2-3 hours. Pete said those previews will start hitting on Monday. Gonna have to be very, very careful starting next week. Those previews will be chock full of spoilers.
