Going to make a true archmage.

I've never done a build focused on just magic, and it seemed interesting to me.

So yeah.

Skills:

Conjuration (Atromancy)

Destruction (Shock)

Alteration

Restoration

Illusion

Enchanting

Most skilltrees will be filled aswell, aside from a few perks. Which means it will cost 75 perk points.

That's alot, but considering I will master all these skills, it'll probably allows me to get there. And I'll also level skills like speech and smithing (jewelry) to help me out. We'll see, I'll save illusion perks for last since that will be the one I won't use much.

Anyway.

Race: Altmer

Gender: Female

Name: Don't know yet.

Factions:

Not sure between Stormcloaks and Imperials, both seem a bit meh for this one.

College of Winterhold (duh)

Not sure between Dawnguard and Volkihar. But probably Dawnguard since such an overload of arcane power will probably grant an elf everlasting youth anyhow.

Dragonborn?:

I think so.

If you know robes/clothes that would fit a graceful type like this, please say so. No armor or mods, please.

since you will be using all magic skills, side with the Volkihar, thanks to the Necromage perk you will be a much more efficient and powerful caster..

Yes I considered that.

But I feel that it would be a bit out of place for my gentle and graceful character to be in a group like the Volkihar.

What will cost 75 points?

The perk points. I usually only base a build on around 50.

But that was my mistake, I should have wrote it better.

This build is doable, but not using an exploit or two to level quickly can make the playthrough take too much time. Legendarising many Skills twice during normal (no fast travel, no spamming) gameplay can get old.

I have a Mage stuck around level 72 because I wanted to try and ashpile the Ebony Warrior, but I get bored playing the character, or add a Mod and not touch the character to avoid problems when I load the character.

You may want to aim for necesssary Perks, getting 72 Perks can take a while.

I'll be using some slight tricks to level skills. (Illusion on the cows? Anybody?)

But I think this will be a challenge for me, which I like.

Maybe like that? I left out illusion since I don't think I'll use it that much, but I'll level it anyhow and possibly spend perks on it when I reached the necessary perks.

Can't seem to come up with a good name though.

Maybe you can prune the set of skills so you don't need as many perk points? I don't think you'll need Destruction, Conjuration, and Illusion. At higher levels any two of those will be more than enough for most opponents. I'm ambivalent towards enchanting, too.

Dragonborn is worth exploring as there are several very good runes available through the DLC - frenzy and poison come to mind.

I'll just sleep a night about it to see if I can figure it out.

Who knows I might end up not liking the idea after all.

Pretty much the pure mage build I like to go with. I don't tend to focus much on destruction once I'm through the 1st few levels and favour the illusion/conjuration combo. Clothing wise there isn't a whole lot to choose from for the mage, I usually go with mages robes, hood(with circlet underneath), leather gloves and boots all with my own enchantments on them.

Same with an amulet and ring, add my own enchantments. The double enchantment perk is very powerful towards the end of the game and you'll be amazed how powerful you can become using just magic. Hope you enjoy your pure mage type character as much as I like playing them.

Everything looks good to me.

If you are playing on any difficulty harder than Adept, I would like to insist on focusing on conjuration, as well as getting a follower/hireling as soon as possible. Preferably someone who is heavily focused on melee combat, such as Lydia or Farkas. Also, the higher your difficulty, the more Illusion will be of use to you. On Legendary difficulty, I would say that Illusion would be your #1 or #2 priority, Conjuration would be right beside it.

If you are playing on a difficulty easier than Adept, then Illusion won't be as useful, so you can make it legendary to gather more perk points if you wish.

Either way, keep your distance.

So instead you will be a graceful and gently vampire slayer? Screw the factions, just enjoy roaming Skyrim in search of lost magical lore.

I tend to agree with Entreri3478's last comment.

Expert and Master Spells are unavailable unless a character joins the College of Winterhold, Spells added by Dragonborn require taking a trip to Solsthiem. The Restoration Spells added by Dawngaurd require beginning over a third of the Dawngaurd Questline, and Serana (despite My comments about Her being a Vera Keyes/Christine clone) is actually a very good Follower, all things considered.
