I'm going to stop fast travel. Join me!

I just realized the game is so much better when you have to plan out your journeys. How long will the trip take? Where will I sleep? Will I discover anything on the way? What if I go by a differnt route?

In my 70h+ playing I slept 1h, just to get Dark Brotherhood conntact me.

I hate travelling on foot, it takes too much time. I mean like from one end of the map, to another.

I fast traveled a bit when I first got the game (until like level 5-6) then I realized I was missing a ton of content + it would make the game last much longer

Haven't looked back since. No fast travel whatsoever.. I enjoy it a lot more.

I never fast travel. Hoofed all the way through Oblivion, Fallout 3 / NV & now Skyrim....except for carriage hire that cost me gold.

I got out of the "Not gonna fast travel" with the Fighters guild back in Oblivion. So much pointless walking there because only 3/9 guild heads were actually allowed to give you jobs for no apparent reason, and the dozen or so Chorral-Leyawin runs at the end.

The mage college line thus far in Skyrim seems to be the same, with many of the objectives appearing across the world (at least theres story sense, as theirs only one college)

I'll toy with it some day. I do often miss the way morrowind used to be

Sometimes it doesn't work for me though. I'm ocd about dungeon clearing
I can't discover a dungeon, cave, mine, ruin, etc... without going in and plundering
it's riches. It's not a big deal until my pack starts filling up. Then I have to decide
what stays, and what gets dropped (often using the time consuming method of
"value vs weight" game).I hate to play picky choosy with loot.

Fast travel helps keep my pack from being perpetually full. But
I'll get around to a character designed for such excursions.

I think travelling to your objective adds to the game play and makes it feel more of an adventure/quest, also as someone said, its got beautiful scenery. but i have started 'fast traveling' back from quests mainly cause im sick of fighting wolves and bears but also cause id have to take the same route back

I find Shadowmere of the Dark Brotherhood to be an excellent mount for getting around.
