Going to the bathroom in Skyrim

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 5:16 am

Who's to say that the people of Nirn even have bodily functions in such ways? There are no toilets, the food offers various forms of benefits, such as increased health and things like that. Who's to say that any of the food becomes waste at all? Maybe it's ALL turned into energy/magicka/etc.

I'd say, if anything, it's unrealistic to include these things.

Am I the only one who starts to develop an aversion towards the word "immersion?" Some people are better off playing The Sims instead of TES methinks....

It's a good word, it is unfortunately used synonymously with "realistic" sometimes. Immersion just means the ability to get involved and "lose yourself" inside of the game. To really believe you're part of the working universe of the Elder Scrolls. It does not necessarily mean realistic in the least bit.

There are sewers, though. And it sounds like the canols in Bravil are smelly (I wonder why)

It's just implied. People just do it when you're not around :P

This just made my top 5 worst ideas for TES list, pushing save points to # 6.

Just remember y'all, "It could always be worse."

Find the two wrong ideas and combine them: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1168141-smell-mod-for-skyrim/

And that is why some ideas should just never, ever even be considered!

No, just no. I wouldn't mind medieval bathrooms, but there's no need to pass waste. It's pointless micromanagement. [NUMMIT], just play real life instead; it's the ultimate hardcoe mode.

Oh I hear you...

I was joking around some time around that Immersion mods will get too far the moment somebody makes a real, serious toilet mod.
I didn't know that there was already a Morrowind mod that did exactly that.

And now this...

What's next? My character can contract diseases like the flu?
"Dovahkiin where were you?!"
"I was taking a crap behind those bushes. Wait, did Alduin already eat the world?"

Just . . . no

Well, I did get a mod so that toilets in FO3 can be sat on, just for the hell of it. But, it's mainly due to drinking toilet water just never seemed right...

Did Morrowind need bathrooms? No. Did Oblivion need bathrooms? No. Did Fallout need to use the bathrooms? No.

No.... It would be really dumb where I'm in the middle of a dungeon and my character has to go to the bathroom...

This is taking realism WAY too far. It's a video game, not real life.

What's next? Catch a cold because you were outside in the cold for too long? Yeah no.

Uhm, diseases are probably gonna be in, as they were in Oblivion. Most diseases were a minor annoyance though and I actually liked some of the mods that made certain diseases a bit more hazardous.

Yeah there were diseases but not like the flu. I never once had to have my character lie in bed for a week or so.

Shiver at the thought of this.

Character reaching for a stick with moist cloth wrapped at the end...

No...I would rather not see that.

I'm thankful for the censor blur in the sims games, seeing characters taking a dump with their pants on look pretty disgusting, far more if you had a drunk friend who did it in real life. :pinch: Worse with a long dress or a boiler suit as it's more obvious that the character did not undress.

Honestly no not actually going.

Some out houses, privy's and chamber pots in doors would be a nice touch.
Just to say this is daily life in Tamriel live with it.

No to any form of using them though, leave that out of a vanilla game, and absolutely no form of farting or crapping as purile is purile.

Edit: how on earth did absolutely get censored to a[censored]y ???

Hey! There was a time and place where drinking out of toilets seemed like a great idea.

I find it disturbing that this is even a suggestion.

I will have to go with "absolutely not"!

The only game I know of that let you use the bathroom was Persona, 3 and 4. It was optional and it could randomly improve your condition in P3 if it was not at great, and there was a chance you might find an item, or your character might remember something he wanted to do, which was for both games. You wouldn't actually see your character go to the bathroom, but you would hear the toilet flush with sink sounds and then appear out the door again.

... as for Skrim this idea seems absolutely pointless. Case Closed

Indeed to the 2nd part. I would like to see outhouse in Skyrim for my immersion purposes, but I don't want to have to go as part of some annoying realism 'feature'.
