Go play "Skyrim, Forever", and kick some ass while chewing bubble gum.

Only if you can pick up your feces and use it as a projectile weapon. Otherwise, no.

Seriously? I think some people are beginning to take this "realism" and "immersion" stuff too far.

I don't see what's so wrong with it as an option. Considering the culture is thousands of years old I see no reason it would need to be gross or anything, and of course nothing would be shown. It goes right along with eating and drinking if there's an option to require those in my opinion.

This seems far more mild than the gore threads. People seem to almost universally oppose this yet graphically ripping people to shreds is something that's a pretty popular request. The world never ceases to amaze me.

That said, the game doesn't need it. An option would hurt no one though.

No, just no. It's bad enough when I have to leave the game to go myself, but if my character has to do that too... I want to explore, kill monsters, make money, save the world, etc. Going to the bathroom is not my idea of fun. Now if it was possible to get drunk though... (see Red Dead Redemption)

I wouldn't mind toilits there for immersion, but too actually use them?, ugh, some things should not be simulated

Hey! There was a time and place where drinking out of toilets seemed like a great idea.

Drinking out of the toilet as a little girl in the simulation looked worse.
I hope it's toilets in Skyrim just to make the world look more real, I might try to put a rune trap on one of them :)

Hell, I don't see a damn thing wrong with it at all.

Oh, no... do potty-jokes make so many peoples' senses truly offended? Are you all really so self-conscious about taking a crap that you think it's universally a terrible idea?

First of all, we all know it's not going to get put in anyways... so there's really no reason for the outburst of inane reaction, but I have to second the opinion that this is the same group of fans who I have seen, on countless other threads, discuss things such as brutally slaying UNICORNS! These are the same people who want -more- blood and violence, and probably the same group of people who'll have the clothes off their characters within the first three days of the game being released... but by the Nine, mention a toilet and suddenly things get dicey.

Wow. :shakehead: This world really is doomed.

Personally, I think you can take realism to a comfortable extent. Where it's at now (at least -having- a latrine, not needing to use it) would be nice. If people want to make a mod that requires you to -use- them... I'd probably get that, right up there with the requirement to eat, drink, and sleep (if they're not standard). I happen to like realism. And unlike the fast majority of the world, apparently, I'm not somehow off-put by the fact that I need to take a leak.

Actually, I would say if that if someone made such a mod, that they shouldn't make relieving oneself dependent on outhouses / latrines / chamber pots or whatever, though... as that might get problematic. Just let folks find a nice concealing shrub in the woods.

But as an in-game game mechanic?

It's not needed... and it's not going to happen.

I do hope there's some form of medieval bathrooms, however. It's a bit strange to not see them.

It's kind of like how somehow, the whole of the Empire didn't possess even one brothel. Even if they're not used, they should be seen

Necessary for immersion?

I think it's a several steps too far.

Actually, if there was ANY bodily function I'd like to see standard in game...

... I would love to be able to SPIT on the corpse of my fallen foes.

Maybe -that- could take a slot on the worst ideas ever, eh? Or don't we care about spitting?

Actually...

... I just thought of a MUCH worse idea... that I'm not gonna share. I'mma just let folks imagine it all on their own.

Oi... I need a drink...

What is this world coming too when we have to endure topics about going to the loo? Why would this add to any immersion unless you just want to stir the pot, how would the devs write this into the game, maybe make a loo bucket quest where you have to make it to the sewerage pit before you run out of time? Maybe include a Toilet dragon shout?

Why stop here, why not include wiping your nose, itching your buttcrack? Games don't need this for immersion some things are left to nature.

You know... this has got to be the most overused, tired, and utterly inaccurate expression I've ever seen used to 'deride' something...

First of all, the Sims was fun. Hell, I guess that kind've makes me a fan... even if I liked The Elder Scrolls first. And, as someone who likes the Sims... and has played The Sims... I can tell you that there's really no comparison between 'any' of the overly realistic functions you see people coming in here and inquiring about... and -any- game mechanic any of The Sims have had to offer. The Sims is largely a simulator of people and characters and life and such... only you're not really playing a character. You're Mr. High and Mighty overhead... directing things with your mouse. Only things don't really go like you want them to... because they're not directly under your control. Because you're not playing a character.

But because we have working toilets... this means it's the Sims!

Genius.

This is like people saying people who want romantic interest for their character should 'Go Play the Sims'... wait, what? Because it has character interaction?

That's like me saying because you like fighting monsters, you should go play any one of the Hack 'n Slash RPGs with FAR more monsters and creatures to kill... because that's totally what you wanted, right? That's what you were after...

It's ignorance, plain and simple, if you think you're hiding your true words.

What you meant to say wasn't anything about The Sims. It was "I think your idea is crap, and I'm going to insult you for it."

On that note:

This poll needs an option for "I know it's not going to be in the game, but if it were a mod, I'd get it."

Then I could vote.

If you mean bathrooms as in those mods for Oblivion. Then HELL NO. TES is not modern.

If you mean more realistic bathrooms for a time and place in TES, http://images.travelpod.com/users/maccasworldtour/rtw-2006.1157842800.img_0195.jpg, then maybe.
I honestly don't care if I see people or myself poop or pee.

only with a duke nukem style joke

This. The only game where it's cool and fits to go to the bathroom is in Duke Nukem games. He's the man. :D

And in the middle ages, they didn't care if -other- people saw them either...

... it's just a part of life. It's not really something anybody should care about one way or the other.
