I think you missed the point, it's a multi-language game, one of the forum members was saying it should only be one language because it's the primary language, but I and others do not agree, everyone worldwide should be able to enjoy this game in their own language.

What about dialects? Also, there are hundreds of languages, should they be translated in all of them?

No I understood the point just fine. I disagree with it though.

Why shouldn't someone who has waited for this game equally as long as you and paid as much (if not more, sometimes europeans/Australians pay MORE than Americans) not get the same treatment?

Because playing the game is a choice.

Because playing the game is a choice.

They still Paid and Waited as long as you have, using your logic this game shouldn't be in English or any language at all, because its a choice. Not your right. You have no right to say this game should be English or English only.

Obviously you'd translate to the most used languages and where its marketable, dialects are simply dialects. I'm from Jersey and I talk differently from a New Yorker, doesn't mean I can't understand him.

Hell, why does anyone care when it goes gold? Its not like that is when it gets released and you can buy it.

Gold announcement is that final big milestone before release. It'll be awesome when we get that announcement. It signifies another chapter in this legendary and beloved series is complete and off to the presses. Very exciting indeed. It's really the meaning behind the Gold announcement that is so special.

^^^^^ THIS EXACTLY ^^^^^

If you don't understand the significance of the game going gold, your loss...but trust us on this, it's a major thing!

Actually, I do have the right to say that. Y'know, I'm a native English-speaker, but I also know Japanese. Should the game cater to me because I paid for it? Buying the game is also a choice...

So you proved our point.

As long as its not delayed >_O I don't care when it goes gold. In fact the longer the better so they can make sure to get most of the bugs fixed before release. Wait till the last minute Bethesda! It will pay off.

Why must the game be in English, is your German, French, Spanish, Italian lacking so much?

Maybe cause the game is made by an English speaking company?

I'm not trying to be imperialistic or anything, but English is the language of trade. However, props to Beth and other gaming companies for actually making different language versions.

My guess is the same as Dragonborn1's, Oct. 30th.

*In Soap Opera TV voice* Today on Pete's twitter...

@DCDeacon Forum is predicting Skyrim will be finished around the 25th. Good guess?

@yanks4champs Not really. :-)

Followup tweet...

@yanks4champs It doesn't have just one date every version in every language is done. You have to wait until last version is done."

My new guess is the 30th.

So I guess after going gold they can get it out there pretty fast huh.

It has no real significance, it simply means the game is done, but hey, that's a given considering its 3 and a half weeks away from release. The game is going to be released regardless, does it matter if they tell you "hey its finished". I mean don't get me wrong thats cool, but its not like this means its released and at your door-step, you know what I mean?

Actually, I do have the right to say that. Y'know, I'm a native English-speaker, but I also know Japanese. Should the game cater to me because I paid for it? Buying the game is also a choice...

I'm a Native English-Speaker myself, but I'm curious. What makes you think English speakers have this "right" to the game being in only their language? But by saying it should be English only, you're basically saying it should cater to you, because you speak it. Besides, what point did I prove? Its just the reality that you can't market towards every given language in the world, specifically where it would never turn a profit.

I really don't expect a delay anymore at all, it did happen with Oblivion but i don't believe it was that close to its planned release, when they announced the delay, right?

You can only realistically get in, so many translations of a game from launch, and those are typically first world countries. English, french, spanish, german, etc.........

It doesn't take long to mass produce disks. That is why it's normally about 2 weeks before release date. Gives them time to produce the disks, box up the games and ship them world wide.

So you think other people shouldn't have a chance to enjoy the game simply because the developers are English speaking? That's kind of selfish, I mean sure its just a game and it's not this great big thing nor a right to really play it. But I think they should have the option to have it in their language. Why shouldn't they? Give me a good reason.

That kind of amazes me as that sounds like a logistical nightmare.

It definitely seems that way, and I'm more than impressed at their turnaround. As a poster above me said, however, the game is done and has likely been in feature-freeze for a long time. It's simply been polish, polish, polish, and localization since then.

You misread my response. I have the right to say anything (given the consequences, of course), but that doesn't make me right. That aside, I do think that because this game is made in an English-speaking country by a team of English-speaking developers, it seems a bit hypocritical to demand the game be localized for anyone else but non-English speakers and in the same breath say English-speakers cannot demand an English-only game. Make sense? That's all I'm saying.

I've seen too many UPS commericials not to use that line.

Who is more selfish: the person expecting a game developed in English to be played in English, or the person expecting a game developed in English to be played in another language?

Alright, seems fair, I apologize for misreading you I've been up for quite a long time. I hope I didn't come off hostile, but I still don't see why you'd want the game to be English Only.

Ugh. Gloominess and negativity on a thread about the game going gold. Just sad. :::looks away::::

It's huge when it goes gold. Five years is a very long time since the last TES and I can say that I'll be having a party in my head when we hear it's gold. Dancing too.

I don't see how I'm being selfish, I simply think those people have a right to play the game they paid and waited for in their language, why shouldn't they have it?

Sure its a lot of work, but if Bethesda is willing to do it, then kudos on them. I'm certainly not going to hate them for not doing it. I'm just saying, if you have the choice, why wouldn't you want more people to enjoy your work?

It's no problem at all, and I don't think you were being hostile.

I don't want the game to be English-only, I just don't think the "everyone has a right to play the game in their language" argument is any more valid than the "English-speakers have a right to play the game in English" argument. If the team can develop the game and localize it for more people, it can only a good thing in my book. My point is that playing the game and/or having it localized for you isn't a right (in the legal sense), but a privilege.

I guess so, I suppose I misunderstood you, I'm really sorry for that, I thought you meant the game should only be for English Speakers. (Yeah I'm really off the ball and should probably sleep.)
