Gold found on the internet

Post » Thu Apr 11, 2013 3:30 pm

As many of the you know, ElricM and Planetelderscrolls are gone, fading into the distance. Remembered by those over a swift jug of Nordic Mead and pipe full of Chokeweed.

Since then there has been a great attempt by the community to preserve the history of Morrowind Modding, a topic that none would have thought could arise. As part of it we have a Fliggerty spring to action and provide us with GHF for new mods and Morrowind Modding History (MMH) for old, lost and forgotten mods. Ontop of this The Nexus helped to preserve Morrowind mod hosting by seperating its site into sub sites such as Morrowind Nexus.

This saw an influx in mods spread across sites that few fair to visit or know exist, this can see mods worth nothing dissapear from public knoweldge and new mods being overlooked. It is possibly at this point you are wondering - what on Nirn is this chap talking about?

To cut to the chase this thread is designed to point out those mods, those sites that harbour wonderful resources and mods that may be obscure. Its a thread to discuss those mods we find and go "wow never knew this existed". Its also a place for Modders and Mod users, who are reaching out further into the net to look for downloads or places to upload to share great sites that none know of.

It is not a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1437813-mod-detective-xxvi/ - we already have one of those.
It is not a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1415665-share-your-load-list-mod-discovery-thread/ - we have one of those already.

This is a "look what I just found" thread. Kinda like the "Gold found on youtube" thread but for Mods.

Its aim is to point out mods that no one might have heard of, that might have surprised you when you found them. To point out mod sites that our small community might not know about.

Its also an oppourtunity to wirte small reviews, to point out likes or dislikes.

Somone posted a mod in the thread and you know something about it? Share your experience! Share your view!

To start us of I would like to point out a few that I have I found recently:

http://mw.modhistory.com/download-4-12188 - An old mod, one of the first that I ever used. I was saddened over the years to learn of its demise and could only find the resources through various other mods. But luckly a fellow modder re-discovered the file and uploaded it. Its a great little mod that all wizards should enjoy.

http://mw.modhistory.com/download-56-6826- I've used alot of replacers in my time and some that replace the repair tools. But the other day I came accross this and it added just that little bit more to be of interest. A great little mod that adds some new repair items and a good book or two.

http://mw.modhistory.com/download-11-11771 - A nice little map that shows all the travel locations, mage guilds and stronghold propylon chambers

http://mw.modhistory.com/download-31-6874 - A recent mod acctually that was released here on the forums. It was a nice surprise to find it uploaded to a more permenant home

http://mw.modhistory.com/download-31-10785- Came across this one last night. While I tend to shy from "bright coloured" mods the detail of the textures on this armor is amazing and worth taking a look. Has a nice japanese feel to it.

Now dont get me wrong, this isnt a "These are the best mods ever" thread. Just a thread for mods you think others might enjoy.
