I didn't really find it funny though, it's just the police doing their job and being effective, how it should be.
I guess it's more a twisted humor thing than anything else.
I live in the US, and over here, if the cops put the handcuffs on too tight, the criminal will sue (and will usually win). That is the judge's fault, not the cops.
My brother was a MP in the army in West Berlin in the mid '70s (a dog trainer most of the time he was there). He talks about it sometimes, and one of the things he talks about is the German police.
He said it doesn't matter what you are doing, or where you're at, if someone shouts "HALT"... you stop!!!
They only say it once, then they shoot.
It's just a sad story here. The criminals have nothing to be afraid of, except maybe that the person they are robbing might be armed.
We have the Castle Doctrine here in South Carolina (and one of the most liberally defined versions of the CD in the country). If you are in a place where you should reasonably feel safe from harm, you are justified in using deadly force to protect yourself and others, and are protected from criminal or civil prosecution. We also have concealed carry (to get the permit, you have to complete several hours of instruction in firearms handleing, given by the State Police). You can carry a gun on your person, so long as it isn't visible... the criminal doesn't know who is armed, and who isn't.
Just in the past month, a guy robbing a convenience store here in SC was fatally shot by a bystander. The bystander's name wasn't released by the press, and they will not be facing any charges.
It's called "consequences", and here in the US, the criminal has the advantage over the system.
I like the video because it demonstrates how it should be. Swift justice.
Yeah, the video shows how it should be, but that isn't how it is here in the US in most places.
