Golly gompers.....a magic gate just opened up.

I voted for Middle Earth cause I always wanted to taste Lembas Bread. But I want the older days, before the West sunk into the sea. Roaming the lands with the sons of Feanor must have been epic plus there were no friggin hobbits at that time.

Forgotten realms, IE: Toril, more specifically the continent of Faerun, even more specifically in or around WaterDeep, or the Swordcoast. I would explain to Khelben(this is BEFORE the 4th age, not interested in going there during or after the Spell Plague) how I got there and how I desperately want to learn magic from him.

If I was turned down, I'd work hard, earn some coin and be taught swordplay from several different tutors, so I knew the ins and outs of several different styles, and incorporate them into my own style.

After I did either of those two, I'd go out and explore the world, the deepest forests and caves, maybe even some of the Underdark. Once I had enough money, I'd live a life of luxury. That or pay Elminster to create a portal to send me back home and bring the gold back over here. Though, not sure if I'd WANT to come back to earth. Tech is great, but Magic is better ^^

Wait, instead of Nirn could I choose the SI right before the Grey March? Becoming a Daedric Prince in real life would be pretty sweat. :D

Probably Tamriel...Cyrodiil is awesomeand Vvanderfell is just breathtaking....or maybe the Summerset Isles, that's probably the ideal location.

Might and Magic's world, where the number of monsters greatly surpass the population of the continents. :D
This means that the career of the adventurer is always welcome in towns, since the people live 5 minutes away from literally hordes of monsters.

Again, Might and Magic's world because I'd get to laugh at the bad voice acting and funny faces. (Choose me or suffer!). :P

Seriously though, I'd go for Daggerfall's Tamriel. Or at least the two provinces we get to explore. It'd be peaceful to simply live as a commoner. Wandering around town aimlessly, waiting for an adventurer to ask directions to Lysanna Yeomcroft's residence or a girl in green waiting at a tavern.

Sorry Nirn, but I definitely prefer Middle Earth. Providing it's a fairly safe time-frame, of course.

Well, for most of Tolkien's world's history, it had brief moments of peace, followed by 1000s of years of guys more evil than Sauron could ever hope to be, having an army of balrogs and dragons pretty much ruling all of the world, save for the land of the Valar.

Best period would be the time of Númenor, pre-Sauron screwing it all up.

The Shire is the place to be. Midget women, good weed, and beer. I can live like squire Western. Then again, the orcs torch the place. Something the movies didn't show.

Shire pre-LotR then.

However, I still desire to be in the company of my lords! I await the great legions of Khorne and Nurgle within the Chaos Wastes!

If you go too far back, the hobbits are still gathering nuts and crawling up trees.

I would love to go to Middle Earth, but there's just hardly any times of peace. :(

So technical

I would love to go to Middle Earth, but there's just hardly any times of peace. :(

The lands of the Valar and elves seem quite peaceful, save for that time Melkor invaded the first time, then got Ungoliant to svck the light from the trees, and when F?anor got really pissy and set off with all of the Noldor elves to Middle-Earth.

Wasn't it goblins who torched it?

I thought it was Sarumon (sp) and Worm-Tongue.

I don't know. I just remember them wanting revenge against the Hobbits because the Goblins lost the first time.

Warhammer. Shame on you for not making that a choice. :slap:

I love Warhammer. But it always seems that when somebody dies in the books, they die in a very gruesome and detailed way. Maybe I'll spend a day in an inn in Middenheim before the Beastmen tear my guts out. :D

Cardiff has those. Well except the camels, but Bristol Zoo isn't far away.

Middle-Earth is a nice place. As long as the hordes of Angmar, Isengard or Mordor doesn't rise up to feast violently on your flesh, it's pretty peaceful there. Sort of depends on at which point of time that "magic gate" would appear.
If it would be right in the middle of the "Lord of the Rings"-timeline, then preferrably no. Then I'd rather go to Tamriel. Not one of the less healthy places though ;P Call me a coward.
