I'm gonna make a Dwarf :)

Post » Sun Mar 23, 2014 4:16 pm

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making a Dwemer.

I'm making a "traditional" fantasy Dwarf.

I was considering using a Breton set to as short as possible, but since Elves can have facial hair, I might just go for a short, stout and round Bosmer with a beard and Nord style heavy armour and axes :D

I'll check it out more when I get into the game, but if any of you can think of any tips and tricks to get this idea rolling, I'm all ears!

There are entirely not enough beards to make a dwarf!

with the beards on the dark elf character creation it does look similar to the dwarves.

What I did notice from character creation is that the difference between two ends of the slider doesn't amount to any significant variation. I'm not sure you can make a short, fat elf.

Khajiit will laugh at your Breton. Your char reads too many children stories  LORE is law

As the creator of two female dwarfs in LOTRO l applaud you. If only ladies could have beards in this game l would have recreated them in Tamriel.

This how my char will RP with your char -- she will think that your Breton is high on Skooma and treat your char such. May be your Breton was visited by the Mad God Himself.

Never said my character would claim to be a dwarf.
I just want "a dwarf".

Besides, I won't RP.

I don't know if you'll be able to make your character large enough.

You gotta be small, but with large shoulders, large head, large legs, large arms, large beard.

And, of course, you *have* to fight with an axe.

Good luck with that.

I'd say make either a really short Nord or a really short Breton. Wood Elves have the angled eyes which wouldn't look right with a dwarf.

Indeed, elves eyes and ears don't fit for traditionnal dwarves. You can't make elves large enough either, I think.

Pretty sure you won't be able to make a breton short enough or stocky enough. You'll end up with short fat guy, kinda like Danny Devito rather than a dwarf.

Gimli in LotR was an axe fan, but the ones in The Hobbit (the book, at least - I don't know about the movie) used swords (and bows).

I don't think even Bosmer can get short enough to reach dwarf height. I played as a Bosmer during the beta with the height scaled all the way down, and he was still hitting chest-height on most Altmer.

If this works, I hope a new subspecies will be born in ESO.

I don't think you the body sliders + beard options will get you all the way to dwarf-ish. Maybe a short version of the Simpson's comic-book-guy at best :/ I could be wrong though.
