I'm gonna miss it.

Ehh, I'll probably start a few new files in the future, it'll be awhile though. Currently on a new FO3 file to pass the time for LR. Anyway I think I'll miss the excitement, hype, and speculation about the DLCs most.

Miss it?
Gonna keep playing it just like I have with FO1 and FO2, no need to stop. :P
Though I do miss playing FO3.
Can't play it anymore because of it's flaws and because I know too much about the gameplay, quests, dialogue and characters. :(

Me too. I hurt a little bit on the inside when I think about my 15GB Level 35 character that crashes on start-up. :sadvaultboy:

As I said in the other thread: Until another RPG with actual roleplaying comes out I'll be replaying NV. Looking at Oblivion 2 Skyrim and the tripe that Bioware are crapping out, it might be a while.

There are alot of big quality games coming in the next months Deux Ex, FIFA 12, Dead Island, RAGE, Skyrim, Saints Row 3rd, Tomb Raider...

I ordered Portal 2 yesterday due to receive today so I'll have plenty to go at until FO 4 shows up and of course some NV

I hope to finish NV a week before Skyrim's release. So that way nothing of value would've been lost IMO.

There's really an infinite replay value as there are endless roles to be roleplayed.

Like for example, I'm playing a character who is focusing on doing stealth kills with a silenced .45 pistol ( the professional + silent running perk).....never did that before.
So what do yo do? Not kill anything untill you find Graham?

I already miss the wonder and amazement of doing something, meeting someone, finding a new place for the first time. I still do find new places and people in the main game from time to time. But now, many of the early quests I just run through so I can gain enough levels to go do some of the more interesting places. Fortunitly I'm on a PC so there are plenty of great new world space mods out there to keep me busy until Skyrim or something like that comes out.

you're gonna miss it? because they aren't going to be releasing DLCs anymore? i don't understand, it's not like you have to get rid of it. i guess it does give you something to look forward to, but this is the fist time i've actually "followed" a game and bought it on release and stayed up-to-date with patches and DLCs and stuff. it was pretty cool but i'm still gonna play the [censored] out of this game....unless Skyrim devours my soul which it is more than likely to. but i consider New Vegas the pinnacle of these 3 games (Oblivion, FO:3 and FO:NV) and i still play those two. damn, i love this game.

It's complicated. Follow me on this.

i really liked New Vegas a lot, and have had fun playing it. But i loved Fallout 3, and couldn't get enough.

It's not that F3 is a 'better' game. i think it's a combination of things. For one, i love the science-fiction vibe of F3 (random robots, etc). It also felt more post-apocalyptic, with the destroyed buildings and such. And post-apocalyptic is a compelling fascination for me. i was overwhelmed with a sense of exploration and wonder the entire time, and playing it was like a drug. Also, it was my introduction to the Falloutverse, and sandbox games. i didn't play it until well after the GOTY edition came out, and experienced virtually no bugs. First experiences always tend to be the most memorable. More on that thought next.

i was dying with anticipation for New Vegas, even though i was concerned that they might make severe changes that would make it feel like something else. When it came out, i bought it and it kept crashing at start. i resolved at that point to just wait for a patch, and happily continued playing F3. When the patches came out, i started playing it. i had fun, but it was so crippled with bugs for so long, that i now can't tell if my lack of full-blown love for NV is because of overall game design, or because of my frustration over the bugs. As i said, first experiences are the most memorable. It lacked elements that i personally prefer, but that's just taste, not fault of design.

i do wonder if i would have reacted to NV with full-blown love if i would have waited for the GOTY edition, after most of the bugs had been worked out and the DLC was done. i guess i'll never know. Fallout 4 is something i am not going to buy right away, and will be waiting until patches and DLC are done. Not as a 'punishment' to the developers, but to give it the best chance possible for a first impression with me, like i inadvertently did with F3.

Maybe the new Skyrim engine will render it all a moot point. We'll see. i'll be watching the boards and revisiting F3 until then.

My Steam account shows over 300 hours logged on this game, so yes I'll miss it when it's finally finished. However, I now have an ATi Radeon 6970 with 2GB of memory on it, so I'm ready for Skyrim to be released, and that will tide me over for a while, I assume.

Really, I can't wait for a new Fallout built in the new engine, because as much as I love the game (and I do), I can't wait for the added realistic environments of a new engine.

Wasn't there reflection in Morrowind? That's built on the same engine. I think that was just a programmer's choice, although I agree with you.

If you play on PC, there might be a mod for this.

Also, the ultimate mod in this game? Totally the lightsaber.

It's almost that time, I can't believe that New Vegas is almost finished. I used to prefer FO3, but no, this is the best for me. Thinking of the memories, first time on the STRIP, playing it 24/7 the first week it was out, my girlfriend nearly left me lol. It's awesome, Obsidian are brilliant. I wish I could go back and relive that October release.

What about you guys, will you miss this?
I definatley hear you , once you go Fallout you never go back , I pretty much dislike every other game but the fallout series now , this one , man well it is a beast I is my favorite game so far with Fallout 3 just behind it, I sure hope they made the money for Fallout 4 :fallout:

Yeah New Vegas was awesome and brought good, no great times. I remember talking about deathclaws and armor, it amounted to how long you wanted to regret your stupidity, short or would you prefer the extra couple of hits. The Vaults, some of them had some really good stories, like 22, and the one where they had to kill one person each year.

The characters were fun.

But what has me more excited is the next Fallout game. Why?! because it is going to be running on that sweet new engine of theirs. More enemy encounters, larger dungeons and definitely cooler weapons and maybe some weather. It will be fun to play the next game and the one after that but New Vegas was an exceptional game. It didn't push the envelope it just gave us what we wanted, more of the same and then some and in the end that worked just fine with me.

Weather would be super neato. The rain in HH, or the sandstorm mod. Lots of stuff, and varied widely in random frequency and intensity.

What i want most is crowds. If you go to someplace like Vegas, there should be crowds of people, all of them doing different things, instead of the same couple of animations like sitting down or staring at a wall.

If the new engine can do that, then i'm sold.
