Good Blender Tutorials?

Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:29 am

I'm considering getting into modeling again (I've tinkered with it for Oblivion) but I'm considering switching over to Blender. I've had a bit of experience with GMax but I had a lot of export issues with it when making armours so I'm beginning to think I should at least learn how to do rigging in Blender. But unfortunately the only tutorial I can find is an hour long video (I prefer text) done by an Indian/Middle Eastern man (Sorry but I'm generalizing, he is hard to understand when the terrible audio quality is add to the accent). Are there any good tutorials for blender out there other than this? I'm completely alienated by Blender's UI.

Also this seems like I may as well throw this in; I'm considering sticking to static meshes for a while mainly because they are what I could use the most. If anyone is familiar with GMax's exporting issues would they be able to tell me if this applies to statics that don't have rigging?

Have you checked the 'Geck Video Tutorials' topic that's pinned atop this forum? Despite the title, they are not all video tutorials.

My sig has a fairly comprehensive tutorial by Artisten and I on Blender, GIMP and Nifskope.

Luck!

It still seems a little complex but I'll try go through it on a night when I have more time.

It also still leaves me completely in the dark as to how to actually use the basic features, you know like selecting something or rotating the view.

I'm honestly considering just sticking with GMax, all I really need to know that I can't find out without tinkering is how to work collisions.
